Hi,

I bought a year old, ex-demonstrator G37 convertible from an Infiniti dealer about 6 months ago and have been lurking on this site for a while as there is no equivalent site here, at present.

Infiniti have only been selling cars in the UK for the past couple of years and they are still very rare over here - I have only seen about 5 others -but the numbers are starting to grow with plenty of advertising and backing of the Red Bull F1 team.

I'm now looking at a mild "tune" of my car - exhaust, panel filter or intake and re-map - and so have been looking at some of the mods you have done to your cars in the US: All I can say is WOW! Some of the nicest looking modded cars I have ever seen, from mild to wild. I would love a twin-turbo conversion but that will have to wait, maybe forever?

Unfortunately, because of the rarity of the car over here, options are limited but do exist, mainly because the 370Z is quite popular so a few tweaks here and there should keep things interesting.

Thanks for reading,
Buzz

What part of England? Scouser here, but living in the US for last 9 years. I still go home a lot, and was looking forward to showing it off one day back home. I've never seen any Infiniti vehicle when I go home.

Welcome to the site though!

Thanks!
Bref, I am in Kent (yeah, I know!) but Infiniti really haven't caught on over here yet - pretty much everyone still chooses the big 3 German marques in this sector so I wouldn't worry about seeing any other G37s, at least for the time being...

Incidentally, are there emissions tests on used cars in the US?. Someone has suggested that a new(ish) car fitted with HFCs might struggle to pass the test when its' MoT test comes round and I'd like to know if anyone over there has had any difficulties??

Vehicle inspections here are nothing like an MOT in England. It's much easier to pass an inspection over here. This is part of the reason that you see a lot of older cars here, yet over there the majority of cars are still quite new. I would just get the MOT and then put the HFC on, and when it comes to get a new one change them over again.

Thanks for the welcome messages everyone.

Tried posting some pics last night but couldn't get them to load for some reason(?). Will have another go when I have more time.

I have found some Megan racing headers on Ebay which look like a good deal but on Megan's website, they say they are for off-road use only. Why? Are they that loud? Anybody fitted them to their street G and if so, what difference have you found? I'm thinking of using these with the OEM cats and an axle-back exhaust that removes the rear silencer box - would I get too much noise?
Is the O2 sensor affected?
Any info or suggestions greatfully received.

Oh, and 1cleanG - appropriate user name!

Thank you.

Welcome buzz.
Unfortunatly alot of exhaust/hfc/test pipes/headers are listed for off road use only.
This way manufacturers dont get into any legal issues with the emmision noise levels.

This... A lot of different color lights and LEDs are listed this way too.

Completely up to you, but Megan is USUALLY considered on the lower end of quality scale. Better than anything knock off though I suppose.

To post pics. The easiest way is to create a Photobucket account or something similar. Upload your pictures to that, and then copy the link.

Hey Folks,

Another Brit here (Mancunian) that lives in the U.S. I've just purchased a new G37x 2012 and its amazing! I've noticed when visiting Stockport-UK there's a brand new dealership there for Infiniti I guess a lot more expensive than here! Anyway have fun with your car.. I've done 55 miles so far and its a cold and clear day here time for another drive

All the best!
Aaron.
