"Elite Wrap-around Certification" on CPO: Yay or Nay?

I just picked up an '09 G37s Sedan (CPO, premium/nav) over the weekend and the guy was really pushing the 'wrap-around' warranty to cover what seems to be all the hoses and electronics. They wanted $1,600 for 7 years and $2k for 8 years. When I balked, they dropped it to 1,200 & 1,600.

With how quickly the dropped the price made me want it even less. Seems like they see it as pure profit when they're willing to come down that much in a blink of the eye.

What's the conventional wisdom around here on this product? I imagine the navigation system would be pretty pricey if it fails, but what are the odds of that happening?

They said I could call today and get it, but cannot purchase it later. Should I get this or pass?

Thanks so much in advance.

I knwo this is late but I said nay. You already have a bumper to bumper warranty and 100k powertrain. So what you are really covering is the electonic type stuff in that gap. They dropped the price for me from $1600 to $1200 then $800. I was still not interested.

It is worth it if your going to keep your car for a while. Power train is pretty basic so does not cover any of the other expensive repairs. but it is just like insurance, you hope you never have to use it but if you do its a good thing to have. So up to you if you feel it is worth it. Just don't cry in 4 years if the nav or your sunroof goes out and you have to cough up more then the price of the warranty
