Decided to with G37s coupe

Hello everyone!!!!
I am new to the forum. I currently own a 08 accord coupe v6
My previous car was a Lexus IS300 which I love and still own...all 160k of it...and yes I bought it new. The accord is great but I dont love it. I was looking into the 335i coupe, 370z, and did not like either. BMW over priced, and 370 did not like the ride. Loved the g37s coupe. Just doing my due dilegence and taking it slow..2weeks search and buy...

I have zero in on particular set of options.
G37s black coupe
Premium pkg
Nav pkg
sports pkg
rear spoiler & splas guards
tints

what do you guys think.....help select...
thanks....

IMHO don't worry about the Nav Pkg. You can get a portable GPS unit from Garmin with lifetime map updates that you can use in others vehicles (friends, family and rentals on travel) and you only have to get it out when you really need it. Just my 2 cents. Save the money on Navi for later Mods as you will catch the Mod bug like 98% of the other on this forum!

+1 for the NO NAV, I have NAV on my phone and use it now.. The only way I would take the NAV package if it was the same price, No need for it,, Plenty of options out there for that..

I dunno, I like the nav. I would be upset if I didn't have it. It makes the car better. It seems every car has nav now and those portable ones are going out of style.

still have the interface screen, no added benefit other than the actual navigation function... everything else is same... looking at the car you cant tell what has nav and what doesnt... so it doesnt justify 2K expenditure in my book...

that money can afford alot of other stuff....

I don't have experience with the Infiniti built-in Nav as my 08 does not have it. However, we have the Honda system in our Odyssey. It is OK but not as good as my Garmin and they want $199 for each map update. I can buy many new Garmin models for that price or less and get free lifetime updates. The dealer even tried to talk us out of getting the built in Nav when we bought the van in 2005 but I was too stubborn at the time. I have since changed my mind and wish I would have listened to him.

My first G didn't have nav and there were a lot of cool tech features on the car that i was missing because of that. I have since gotten nav on the last 2 G's and love it... the new nav system is great w/ the new screen and you get a bunch of options to play with that you wouldn't get without the nav.

Personally, i would get the car exactly as you had listed it above (my last car was configured exactly that way).. everything but tech (it is ridiculous that you only get the rain sensing wipers w/ the tech package but that is the way Infiniti does it)

I think that if you don't get the built in nav you will regret it long-run...

A lot of this also depends on whether you are buying or leasing... I know that for a lease, the nav is at most $20 a month more than without (something not so horrible when you get into the $$ range that these cars get into).

Enjoy the car shopping process!

It boils down to personal preferance. I had navi in my 350z and barely used it. I don't have it in my G, but have a Garmin portable. I like that alo better because of convenience of using it in multiple vehicles. Don't forget manual vs. auto option. Definitely have to weigh that option. Good luck with purchase.

Just what we need—another nav versus non-nav thread. I guess we haven’t had one in a while so (sigh) I may as well jump in too.

At any rate, I would suggest the OP read the many threads on this subject. If you read between the lines IMO, you may find that most owners with factory nav are quite happy they have it. Those without factory nav are split into two schools of thought. One group is sorry now that they didn’t get it, and the other is also sorry but is stubbornly trying to rationalize their decision.

I say get the Nav. I have a TOMTOM and my cell phone, bith have nav but are small, TOMTOM is a pain, its been wrong more than a few times, and last I checked, they also charge to update it. With the factory nav, you get a bigger screen, touch screen and just more options than a cell phone or tomtom, IMHO its worth it.

Don't listen to those telling you not to get Navigation. Get it, you won't regret it. I think you have a perfect build. The options I would get if I was shopping for one. Good luck.

Welcome!

Checkov, hit it on the head in his summary.
My take is I had a 2003 sedan, at the time in car navs were really not that great. My tom tom did a better job, plus I got updates on it and fit nicely on the 2003 sedan cubby hole area.
it's no longer 2003, and since 2008 the in car nav would be worth getting.
It's kind of a rip off if you buy new to get it as an option, but that's how "they/infiniti/car makers" get you. It's worth it since it's nicely integrated since 2008 and up.
