Decided to with G37s coupe
#16
My first G didn't have nav and there were a lot of cool tech features on the car that i was missing because of that. I have since gotten nav on the last 2 G's and love it... the new nav system is great w/ the new screen and you get a bunch of options to play with that you wouldn't get without the nav.
Personally, i would get the car exactly as you had listed it above (my last car was configured exactly that way).. everything but tech (it is ridiculous that you only get the rain sensing wipers w/ the tech package but that is the way Infiniti does it)
I think that if you don't get the built in nav you will regret it long-run...
A lot of this also depends on whether you are buying or leasing... I know that for a lease, the nav is at most $20 a month more than without (something not so horrible when you get into the $$ range that these cars get into).
Enjoy the car shopping process!

Why do you go back with gs and have you done any mods on them..

Welcome to the forum.
Everyone has different preferences. Do what's best for YOU. Address your concerns and your goals with the car. Personally, sometimes I wonder if I would be happier if I had gone with a 370Z over my G. That doesn't mean I do not love my G. And, although I do not drive my G too many places where I would need it, I'm not too proud to say that I do not have navigation. Nonetheless, sometimes I wish I had opted for it... All in all, you're getting a great car whether it has navigation or not. I have little doubt that you will enjoy it...

Hello everyone!!!!
I am new to the forum. I currently own a 08 accord coupe v6
My previous car was a Lexus IS300 which I love and still own...all 160k of it...and yes I bought it new. The accord is great but I dont love it. I was looking into the 335i coupe, 370z, and did not like either. BMW over priced, and 370 did not like the ride. Loved the g37s coupe. Just doing my due dilegence and taking it slow..2weeks search and buy...
I have zero in on particular set of options.
G37s black coupe
Premium pkg
Nav pkg
sports pkg
rear spoiler & splas guards
tints
what do you guys think.....help select...
thanks....

I've noticed the 370Z is a bit of a rougher ride, and like you, I considered BMW too (test drove a 335i and a 530i). I think since you like the IS, you'll definitely like the G. I like your options listed, but I am on the fence about having the nav system - I'll explain below.
In the IS, the nav had its own screen, which I like (although I replaced my stock radio with an aftermarket one, a Pioneer AVIC-D3, so I got my car without the nav, knowing I would get an aftermarket unit soon after). Personally, one of the few ways I would consider the factory nav is if it had a separate screen for it.
IMO, I think you'll have a good idea about this after driving one with and one without, while exploring all the nav's features.
I agree on the buying/leasing consideration, although I am partial to aftermarket and portable systems in almost all cases.
It boils down to personal preferance. I had navi in my 350z and barely used it. I don't have it in my G, but have a Garmin portable. I like that alo better because of convenience of using it in multiple vehicles. Don't forget manual vs. auto option. Definitely have to weigh that option. Good luck with purchase.

I know I may sound like I'm contradicting yourself, but I'm just making sure you (OP) understand my experiences, so you can make the best decision. Good luck!

Thanks for your insight. Wow you had two Gs...you must love this line of cars. I test drove the one with the nav....awesome equipment. All cars in the lot with the sports package have the nav system. I really like it, voice activated, and touch screen. I really love this car...still shopping.
Why do you go back with gs and have you done any mods on them..

On my first G I did Injen CAIs but haven't done any mods other than that... realized that it is a PITA and not really worth doing any real mods on leases... I did get the smurf antenna though for the convertible now because that whip antenna was ugly as sin.
I think if you build out the car the way you started in your original post you will be thrilled with it. My last car was literally the same build as what you had said above so if you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me

I am actually on my third G as of about 6 weeks ago ... I do love these cars; as for why i keep coming back to the G's, you really can't beat the quality/tech toys for the money... plus, it was nice to be able to switch it up the 3rd time around and get a convertible so I can enjoy living in South Florida properly

And that is exactly what I am doing. Thanks for all the great advice to everyone. After several test drives I really like the nav system; I think I will regret it if I dont get it. Therefore is back to the original choices I want. The Nav, premium, sport, and splash guards....
It seems all the dealers basically load the g37s. So you either get a loaded s, or a semi loaded journey.
I have a question for the 6mt owners...did your cars come with the rear lip spoiler? All the cars in the lot have that chrome lip spoiler which does not help to defrenciate from sport models to regular models....that is why I will probably have to pay xtra to get the body color rear spoiler installed.
Has anyone had similar circumstances or is this the norm....
I will be making my decision in a couple of days...got to wear this dealers prices down....leasing so I am not that worried about list price as much as the monthly payment. This is my 8th lease so I have a few tricks up my sleave..lol
Any way guys thanks for all the great info...will be back to talk about my purchase and to discuss some must have mods on this great car....

get the nav, you clearly want it and it's your money. I got my car fully loaded as well, nav included. I like the interface of it a lot, even though i barely ever use it. i bought it knowing that i will barely use it but i know i've always wanted a built in navi. i've used portables too before and they always load forever, battery dies, charger port craps out, or someone in the family needs to borrow it the same exact time i need it. mind you, i have an iphone as well so i could use the navi on taht.
bottom line is i wanted it built in despite the fact that i clearly dont need it. if we were talking about want's and needs then let me tell you, this 40k G37 is definitely a car i dont need. It's a car i wanted, so I wanted it to have everything I wanted in it. If it were all about what i need, i wouldve ended up with some cheap economy car with a tom tom or so for thousands and thousands less

Akochman,
Your advice has been on the money, thanks a bunch.
I have narrowed it down to two dealers, they both have limited loaded g37s, equiped the way I want.
I can tell you this: The deal will be made tomorrow, I need to be driving this baby this weekend...decided with Osbidian Black on Black and the options stated before...sport, nav, premium, mud guards, rear spoiler, tints
