might be getting a g37s very soon :)

hello, and good day everyone

a bit about myself:
My name is Ashraf (aka AJ) and I drive a 2008 STi that I absolutely love, 21 yrs old, and NO, my dad does not pay for my **** (although he's been very supportive and got me to start my career right, and for that, I thank him)

I'm getting married this summer, which is gonna force me to change the habbit of spending so much on cars, so I'm most likely gonna call the sti big turbo build off, and buy a nice luxury/sport car and call it a day, and the G37s is one of the cars i always loved. It will also be much easier for the wifey to drive around since my other car is a tank

Rides History:
2001 Ford Crown Victoria - SOLD
2005 Black Toyota Avalon Limited - [bone stock] SOLD
2006 Black Toyota Yaris YR - [my ricer car ] SOLD
2008 FBP Honda Civic Mugen Si (678 of 1000) - [supercharged w/ bolt-ons] SOLD
2008 LR Subaru Impreza WRX STi - [current - work in progress]
2009 DWT Cadillac Escalade - [current]

The STi:

I'm looking for a fully loaded G37S '09 or '10
any differences? other than the new gunmetal color

also, what's a good price to shoot for?

plans for the G37s:
eibach pro-kit springs
a nice set of wheels
tint
the usual
and maybe a supercharger down the road, who knows

Welcome!! IMHO I'd get a 09 simply bc there aren't enough chnages to the 2010 to make it worth more money. You could get a brand new 09 much cheaper than a brand new 2010. Fully loaded I would think you could find for low/mid 40's maybe even lower now. GL and post pics if/when you get it

Sure your wife can't drive the Caddy? My grandma is almost 90 and still drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee once a week, seriously. Her sister/my great aunt was a caddy driver until 2 or 3 years ago. *grins*. But seriously I can also see getting the G37 too.

Anyway, welcome! I got my G37x Coupe about 3 weeks ago, 2009 model mostly because the changes are minor, and I could get a much better deal on it then if I wanted for a 2010. But, I think in the G37 Sedan area there's some photos and info about the 2010 Sedans, I haven't seen any info about a 2010 Coupe or Convertable yet.

Oh and congrats in advance on the marriage.

ADDENDUM: Right after I posted I went to the coupe subforum, and saw this post. Didn't read it much but might have some info:

i'm gonna look into both, and if there is no big changes and the difference in price is worth it, then I'm gonna get an '09, if not, then 2010 makes more sense

she can drive the caddy now, but the caddy won't be here for long
I have a big family that visits often and that's why the escalade is here, but once that is sorted out, the caddy may go for a big boy toy
thanks for the link

and thanks for the welcome guys, i've been lurking for a while, and i hope i can get a good deal and join the community soon

My pleasure to post the link. Oh, as an aside the Sedans are getting a slight makeover, (I think) the coupes aren't. Here's a post in the Sedan section that shows some of the 2010's at a dealership:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...ealership.html

Oh, the stuff about my grandma and aunt was just me being silly. Even if they do drive pretty big cars for little old ladies.

Yeah, I still love my 2009 G37x Coupe, but I do like the grill on the 2010 Sedan. If I was wanting a Sedan instead of a Coupe, I would have came a lot closer to waiting for 2010..although the deals one can get for a 2009 would still be tempting.

Welcome on board Ashraf.. getting married at 21 and have a big family, I'm betting you're from somewhere close to the middle east hahaha

Not a huge difference between 09 and 2010, wait till 2010 comes then buy the 09 for an insane price

PS: VERY SEXY STI! What you have done to her? A little spec sheet please

Very True, I'll go ask around for deals today, and I'll see if it's really worth it to get an '09 instead of 2010

Hey Sam ,
your guess is 100% right haha, I'm from Saudi Arabia
the 2010s should be out by now, or really soon, so i'll see what dealers will be willing to do on '09s

Very nice & impressive spec sheet man.. Bet she is so much fun to drive and planted in the ground! I'm guessing you're a little under 400whp with those mods? Do you have any video's of her. I love Suby's

Hey brother I definitely miss the middle east, but i'll be back in May, and getting married in July, so it's pretty close

Thanks for the compliments, I learned my lesson in modding, and I do believe I started the right way (Suspension>big power), It's not close to 400whp yet, but I was planning to go big-rotated turbo kit, so no point in buying too many mods that will not work with the plan, that's why most of my mods are preparing for the big build, we'll see if it's gonna be done someday or not

I've always loved suby's, and it's definitely one of the most impressive cars I've had or driven for the price

I'll try to dig up some videos, and will post as soon as i find some

thanks for the warm welcome everyone

BTW, anyone in Houston dealt with southwest infiniti in the past? any reviews?

Nice looking 08 STI... I myself have an 09 (my mom has the G37x though).

Personally I'd just stick with the STI/Escalade rather than getting a G37... the STI has a larger trunk and pretty similarly sized backseat... plus it's much more fun to drive than the G37! lol. But hey that's just me.

BTW any plans for a partout if you decided later to sell the STI? lol
