Hello everyone.
I'm a G35 6mt coupe owner (2007) and I have 4875 miles on the clock.
I've been looking at the G37 sport coupe 6mt and it's starting to grow on me.
I wasn't a big fan of it when it was released but after taking an 09 for a test drive I made the decision to trade up.
Unfortunately the Infiniti dealer that I bought my G35 from won't sell me a
G37 at invoice.
My G35 is a good ride but I do have complaints about it.
The manual transmission is very notchy and lacks the sporting feel for a luxuray sports car. Also the engagement point of the clutch is to high.
Not to mention I worry about having an oil consumption issue.
I burned 1/2 qt of oil on the first 3700 miles. Not as bad as some G35 owners are having but to me it is still excessive.
The 09 G37 had a much smother transmission and I've been reading that the engines don't suffer from the oil consumption problems.
Hopefully the 09's will not have the A pillar problems that some people have had on the 08's
Perhaps after the new year will be a better time to negotiate.

A-piller problem? Not sure what that is as I haven't heard anything about that one.
I would say that you would be lighting a match to about $15-$20K to upgrade to the 09. If you are upside down on your loan, then don't do it. You would be paying a great deal of money for something that isn't worth that amount. Also, if you had to roll over a good deal of money onto this car loan your finance rate may climb through the roof as most lenders are weary about loaning $55K for a car thats only worth $40K. Keep the car, pay it down, lease next car, get rid of car at end of lease, lease next car, so on.

I payed my loan off early. I own my G35 free and clear.
The dealer tried to screw me on the trade in value.
They offered me 21K for my G35. I laughed and asked him if he was joking.
I told him 30k, they countered back with 28k.
Yea, I was thinking about leasing the G37.
I'm looking forward to the G's evolution through the years. It seems to get better and leasing does sound like a better avenue for me to take.

Need more info on your post please.
The dealer offered me only $500 below MSRP on an 09.
I'm not paying more than invoice in December or January.
The dealer had a lot of 08's on the lot.
They indicated that they were not able to negotiate down on the 09's
They need a sale more than I need a new car.
They have my phone #

If you are looking for a 6mt, just get the 08 as there isn't too much difference between the 08 6mt and the 09. If you are looking for an automatic, then I could see wanting to get an 09 for the new 7 speed.
Since you have the G35 paid for, why not look at getting a winter beater like an Evo X or something. I would do that if I were you, but if you really want a G37 then try to work with a different dealer as these guys you are going through don't sound like they want to work with you.
When i was shopping around for the best deals I went to 3 different Infiniti dealer websites and did the quote. Then I kinda shopped between them to get the best deal. After that then go in and negotiate the trade in separately. It takes a couple days, but can save you some serious loot.

The 08's can be bought for a great price, that's for sure.
I'm still considering it.
I'm thinking that the 09's will have minor improvements that we as consumers
are unaware of or not informed of from Nissan/Infiniti.
I've got to have the 6mt. Much more fun. Even the new 7 speed automatic would become boring in time.
My G35 is only my weekend car. I've had it for 15 months and I have hardly put any miles on it. I drive a 1990 honda accord for my daily commute.
I call my thrasher car. I love that POS, Hahahahahaha
