Newbie/ koelzmod

Hi everyone, just joined and am looking foward to the club. I purchased my black on black G37 on New years Day. What a great way to start out the new year huh? I've been out of the car scene for a while so don't think I'm stupid if I have to have you guys fill me in on the new lingo's. I am an old muscle car guy,so bare with me. I put 20 inch staggered(new word I learned) wheels on already with Nittos. Want to lower it 1 inch but need advice. Do I need to use a camber kit?? Also, what is Droning? sounds like what we use to call lagging. Told you I was old LOL. Let me hear from guys, Thanks

wow... let me help... Go with G35 Tein Htech for the drop and you will prolly not need a camber... PM Sharif@Forged and he can hook you up!!

PICSSSSSS!!! POST THEM!!!!!!!!

and Droning is when your cruising and the exhaust gives a drove sound that is like a loud constant hum noise... Hope you understand...

how old are you btw?

And Last.... WELCOME AND CONGRATS ... you are starting off well... (depending if your wheels look good lol)

Thanks for the info max. I get it. I'm 48. We use to get drone with the old turbo mufflers and glass packs. I will post pics when I take them.I just purchased the dual cold air intake and electric superchargers and chip from Global Auto Shop. Have not installed yet. Trying to figure out about test pipes and hfc's (high flow cats?) everyone has different opinions. Would really like to run test pipes and a different exaust from them all the way out but, I read an article in modified mag that said there have been cases of lost HP with the TP's. Whats your experiance?

Is this a Joke... cause your way off ... I mean wayyyyyyy offf....

First... electric supercharger? you wasted money if its what i think it is... and what chip? cause no one makes one for us yet... and theres no way you read the Test Pipes lost power on a G37... no way no how... and your cold air intake... its is proven to have lost power... were waitng on one right now that is suppost to have nice gains but not released yet...

So thats why I am wondering... no way some salesman talked you into all the parts...

Welcome koelzmod, there is a link to at the bottom of my post that goes to the Modding411 section which has all the mod parts for the G37 that we are aware of. There is also a dyno sheet stick in the Engine and Drivetrain section that has HP/TQ increase from members of certain mods. There is also a lot of info in each section such as the Engine, Intake/Exhaust, Brakes/Suspension, etc sections which you should go through. Test Pipes show that they increase both HP and TQ on the G37 so not sure who told you they don't. Finally, if you have info on parts that we don't have in the Modding411 section then feel free to PM me, MaxToTheG37, or DiamondGCoupe with the info so we can add it such as this Cold Air Intake you are getting. We have a lot of info here but that doesn't mean we have "all" the info.

I thought that would get some attention. Go to www.globalautoshop.com and look what they have for the G37. I thought the same thing. Sounds like a hoax. I was hoping someone else could be the guieny pig and let us all know if it did anything. Let me know what you think and thanks for the the other info.I wasn't joking tho about the article. I will post it when I get the magazine back from my brother who purchaced his G a week before myself.

koelzmod, like the other suggested if you can do a before and after dyno. I would also say to do a before and after dyno before each part. For example, do a before dyno then install the CAI, then dyno after, then install the "ELECTRIC SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM" and then do a dyno after that. I can see increases in HP/TQ from the CAI if it was designed correctly which could be the case. As far as the "supercharger system", I am not so sure this is going to work on the G37 due to the ECU. From what Injen is saying the ECU is programmed to control the air flow into the engine which is why it is hard to get gains from a CAI. So unless this system reprograms the ECU first, I am not so sure it will work. If you are getting it please try to do the dynos. If you are looking for recommendations or thoughts I would recommend the CAI because you might gets gains from it and it should sound nice. The "ELECTRIC SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM" I wouldn't waste your time unless you can return the system and are able to dyno it.
