that race seems about right. in twisties like that, we shouldnt be able to keep up with an S2k. I was just gonna be sick if the G didnt beat the RX8 though.

It was the reason the s2k pulled away. The rx8 was blocking and holding everybody up. Once they passed it, you clearly seem everyone including the rsx pulling away from it

I never corrected my friend cus he was happy and proud of his RX8, but he would say that our two cars were about equal in a race blah blah blah.....

I didnt want to hurt his ego. His car looked sweet though. All Black with black and red leather interior.

I dunno though man, around corners, those S2ks are no joke. If the G got past him on a straight away and was able to block him, thats another story.

s2k is usually faster than the G35 on the track, its a super cornering machine.
they can actually run even against a 350z at the1/4 mile with a good 6000rpm launch. we do have a better top end and definite power advantage off the roll. Even without the Rx8 in the mix the g35 probably wouldnt be able to beat the s2k (driven by Gan-san, aka the best driver on BMI). unless they were racing on a track with really long straights, like Fuji international speedway, otherwise s2000 has the advantage over us (not a big advantage, id say its still a driver's race with advantage to s2k). S2k has never beaten the 350z coupe on BMI though, in the numerous times they went head to head vs reach other.

and yep, RX8 is slow as hell with only 159lb-ft of torque. They were over rated at 240hp when they came out, then adjusted to 238hp, now it went down again to 232hp. They dyno around 175-185whp while S2000 generally dynos around 200-210whp. It also has a lot of body roll due to a very soft suspension contributing to instability and nervousness during highspeed manuvers. Its really not in our class at all, its real performance competitors are the likes of Eclipse GT, RSX-S/R and Celica GT-S etc.

btw the RSX is a type R, not a type S. type S should have no chance at beating the rx8.

The type R only had 10 more horsepower. I dont know what else the Type R had though as for suspension. I had no idea the RX8's suspension was soft like that. Shame on Mazda.

Honda really takes the R emblem seriously. Type R had stiffer R tune suspension and its gutted out, much lighter for better acceleration and much better cornering. Its also got way better brakes and tires. BMI did a test of the current Type R vs the type S and old type R, the result is not even close. the R symbol really means a lot, its like the GT-R symbol from Nissan... the NSX type R is the fastest JDM car and the best track car out of Japan. Its night and day from NSX type S that we get in the states. the Civic type R will also destroy the civic SI.

have to be careful with the rsx's these days. There's a lot of them running K-Pro's and the k-series engines respond nicely to n/a mods. My friend's type S is running 13.9's with K-pro and a few bolt ons. Vtec rocks.. I miss my rsx..
