The only thing that makes me nervous is battery issues. Dead battery in either the remote or the car, and you are not getting in!!! That would suck! I can just see me all the way in VA for HH and then bam no remote.

I have it on my car. I didn't disable the lock mechanism, so if the battery dies, I can pop it off carefully and use the key.

I did the same thing. Just leave the lock under it and you can easily pop it off if you ever need to get in with the keys.

I brought this up at happy hour. I have this on my car, pretty simple. LEK brought up a point where his car somehow locked itself when he was outside when it was on, at that point, you need a key. Regarding the battery issue, I bought a 10-pack, and store one everywhere..ahaha one in my wallet incase i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere and battery dies. Worst case, you can pry it out, it's just a plastic cover from the passenger side, nothing more. You're not replacing the key hole or any locking mechanism whatsoever, just the cover. Cheap and easy mod.

There's just one screw that sorta hold on keyhole cover, that screw can only be access on the side of the door. Once unscrew, you sorta pry/pop it out, and once out, you simply replace the cover(with hole for key) with the cover(without hole, from passenger side) and simply put it back and screw on. If you do get stuck, i'm sure you can pry this out since it's just a piece of plastic cover. Just make sure to carry/store extra battery just incase, i have one in my wallet..haha

I think it was $22-25 from infiniti, comes painted to match your car. There was an old post that listed the part number per paint code. The dealer might be able to pull it up, it's simply the passenger door handle cover. The have to order these since I don't think any of them keep in stock. Maybe Dave at Rosenthal can hook you guys up with this.
