Rear Axle Clicking issue
Well, I took my car to Chantilly Infiniti today, talked w/ Andrea who remembered Greg (Oh, that tall John Deere lookin feller??) and had a good convo. going about Rosenthal. Informed her why/how I no longer return their for service etc., and explained my problem with the rear axle clicking. She sent out a tech 'James' (Cleetus/Billy Bob) who came out and listened for the clicking. Well it took a few tries of popping the car into D/R/N to finally get it to 'click'. But I'm scheduled for a Monday at 730am drop off, which hopefully will result in a fixed rear axle and alot less 'clicking'. Will keep you guys posted....

Good luck. I went to get mine fixed via the TSB. I think its gotten less but I still hear it. I think they just have to replace the whole damn axle instead of greasing up the bolts or whatever it is exactly that they do.

So is the problem you guys are having when you put the car into drive or reverse and you start the accelerate you get a minor clicking noise? If so, I've had the same thing forever now...
Where can you get a listing of the TSBs?

i had this problem ... before i left for canada .. the dealer replaced my whole axle! ... the recall is just on the bearing though... the clicking sound pisses me off ... its really annoying... the dealer has to fix it for free ... if they argue .. you can print out the TSB ... its a sticky on the Coupe forum ... and take it to the dealer.

I had the same problem well over a year ago. I took it in to the dealer and they replaced the axles without questions. It is hard to believe this problem is ongoing in the 05s. One would think they would have corrected the problem at the factory, but I guess that makes too much sense.

i spoke with james the 'tech' and i love how most tech's assume you've never worked on a car or have no knowledge of what they talk about. basically he told me a few things i already knew in terms of the wheel hub and axle. The grooves in the hub/axle are supposed to be lined up 'etc etc (no ****)' and 'gunk' builds up there. He stated he will remove the 'gunk' and lube it all up again. I know this may temporary stop the 'clicking' but I think the axle may end up needing to be replaced. I will remove my aftermarket wheels to avoid a potential 'your heavier wheels caused it type of reaction'. But based on their service thus far...dont see it being a problem.

I also realized another TSB...the rocking of the drivers seat under acceleration and turning...looks like I will be without the G for a few days....I'll have to have them add this to the list of things to do....

Puria you are a f**king genious....my seat always rocks when accelerating especially when I come to a stop it rocks forward. I'm always scared that I'm gonna fly through the windshield with the seat if something were to ever happen. Guess I'm going to Chantilly after the meet too...
