That cone passing is really gonna take some time to get used to. All a gimmick. Its a shame EA Sports has the lock down on NFL for what 6-7 years? The game isnt that bad though. Passing was better on ESPN but running is btter on Madden.

I think they just run out of things to change that they start changing things that don't need it and ruin the game. I haven't played Madden 06 but I have NCAA 06 and they made that new "Race for the Heisman" crap and it just overtakes the gameplay by having you focus all your attention or energy on trying to win the Heisman rather than just playing a season. The passing isn't different in that game though so if you hate Madden's new passing and want to stick with EA go with NCAA 06 cause its sick.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll stick to NCAA '06 when that comes out but it'll probably be the same thing as madden with the cone stuff. When does it come out, september-ish right?

NCAA '06 has been out (at least for ps2) and there is no cone for the passing. The passing is unchanged for the most part except that there is no more 'X' receiver. Instead, to run with your QB and accelerate you press X to have a speed burst while still behind the line of scrimmage and you don't have to drop down the receiver icons. I think it's sweet because it doesn't waste the time of dropping the icons and it's more realistic.
