ECU Reflashes?

Has anyone gotten their ECU reflashed? I wonder if it's worth it.

Worth it after you get all your mods installed and you're finally done. It wouldnt make snese to get an ECU reflash and then add more mods to your car.

by this ECU you mean the pushing pedal 5 times in 5 secs etc, or the one you have to have a shop do for you?

With an ECU reset you typically get your rev limiter bumped up to around 7700(??) i think they may also be able to tune your A/F since breather mods can make u run lean (dangerous) at higher RPM. the initial cost is pretty pricey..anywhere from $300-650...but they give you a discount after the initial flash. just remember if the dealer ever finds out u remapped ur fuel/air or timing or reflashed ur ECU your big time SOL when your engine fails!!

I've had mine reflashed. Crawford and TechnoSquare got together and jointly developed a flash that takes advantage of the Crawford bolt-ons. Plenum, cats, and headers.

I've got the "Crawford Flash" on my ECU. Worth it? Oh Ya! I definitely felt the extra urge, and I don't bump the rev limiter anymore. BTW, the rev limit was raised to 7100 RPM. I usually shift somewhere around 6800 or 6900 on aggressive acceleration, and the power is still coming on.

Techno-Square did leave stickers on the ECU, but neither the dealer nor a smog inspection station can tell with their diagnostic tools that it was modified, and you don't get a CEL. To tell it's been changed, you need to physically remove it and look at it.

It's something I would do again, in a heart beat.

Crawford doesn't have the facilities do the flash. Crawford and Techno-Square co-developed the flash. Crawford told T/S what they wanted and Fed-Exd ECUs back and forth across the country, until Crawford had what it needed. You send the ECU to T/S in Los Angles, tell them you want the Crawford Flash. You remove it, they flash it, and return it.

i had my ECU reflash at AAM. Definiately, the car goes faster, rev up to 7200RPM, A/F ratio is 12.5....costed me 500 bucks .....IMO, it's little bit pricey but.....it works.....I raced with my buddy IS300 (mods), so I could see the difference.
