ya it def would man!!! The bike isnt the pricey part, the insurance is!! For full coverage on a bike your looking at/around $200/month+ from what Ive seen!!! Insurance on bikes is usually more than the monthly payment on one!!

Get the minimal insurance on the bike and just have good life insurance!! I was looking at a used bike anyways so this is the way I'd go.
When I priced out the insurance they were all between 130-160 for the entire year.

Well bikes are getting light, and I think light is good for the body and speed. Just don't trying to do wheelies. They fly up like a rocket. R1 are very light from 99 on up. Suzuki just started making their bikes light. Kawasaki (sp) is a ok bike but again they just started making theirs light. As you can see I'm a yamaha fan and will always be. So I would say go yamaha.
Mods wise, you can mod anything.
Insurance I have State Farm and pay $540 a year full coverage.
