ZAINO questions

so i'm going to throw down some money for the Zaino system. I keep getting referred to it by multiple people, and I've read a lot of the things on the g35driver board about it all. I still have a couple of questions about it, and I know some of you use so mebbe you could help me out.

Is the Zaino system a wax substitute, or something that I should do after a wax? Wash -> Wax -> Zaino?

What Zaino products do you people use? So far I've got myself set to buy the following:

-ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive
-Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes
-Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray
-Z-18 ClayBar

Any other recommendations from you guys?

I think the best thing would be for you to wash --> claybar --> zaino wax

Claybar should remove all those bug stains and little imperfections. From all my research as well, any claybar should get the job done - just be prepared to spend lots of time on it!

I would suggest also getting Z-5™ Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches and also Z-7™ Show Car Wash for both general washing and also for Clay Barring.

The Zaino approach is instead of waxing. Read up on their www site as to "how" to do the first treatment, but basically you'll use Dawn Detergent to remove any pre-existing coats of wax and then you'll spend a lot of time ClayBarring. Then washing with Z7 and proceding on to alternating coats of Z5 and Z6.

The real work is the Clay Bar - can you say, "Wax on. Wax off?"

Your list will do the job. The Z-2 is your "wax". You might want to double up on the Z-6. Once you've built up a certain level of Z-2 wax you can get away with no wax but still apply the Z-6 after washing/drying to enhance shine. It's in a spray bottle. It does take a little time but overall less than you would with a random orbital and some other product. Results are excellent.

-Zaino Car Wash
-Dawn Dishwasher Wash (only once to take off previous wax)
-Dry (if after drying, you see waterspots use Z6, if not dont. Its better if you get all waterspots out without the use of Z6 as the polish will hold on better)
-If car is dark use 2 layers of Z5 with ZFX enabled and 1 of Z2 with ZFX enabled (1 z5 2 z2 if light color)
-Use Z6 between every application and after the last one (helps ensure all wax is out and wax residue too).
-I use P21S carnauba wax after, but you dont need to.

With Zaino, I only bought the ZFX, Z2 and Z6. Unless you need the Z5 you don't really need to buy anything else with the Zaino brand. I'm not detailing junky but any claybar (I used Mothers) would do the job and same with carwash( I use Meguiars). Don't waste your money on buying everything Zaino brand. I use Meguiar's quick detail between wash and when needing that extra bling, I'd follow it up with the Z6(to me it add a lil extra gloss, might just be me). Buy 2 Z6's since you tend to use that up quicker and because it smell so good.

Z2 makes it shine, Z5 covers swirls, makes it look dark and wet (deep).

Is Zaino clear or will it leave white powder after you use it like most waxes?

It will leave white powder, not much but yes you will see powder. You are supposed to whipe it down when it hazes so thats what you see after. That is also why you use Z6, that way you pick up all those wax residue.

I'd love to give my car the Zaino treatment, but living in an apartment complex I don't have anywhere suitable. Any suggestions? And on that note, is anyone else interested in doing a Zaino day, kind of like the DIY day? I think it would be awesome :-).
