new laws in va: VA sucks...

Wow!! haha.
So I'm a resident of the notorious Fairfax County. So If I get a reckless driving ticket in this county....it would be rediculous!!
Civil fee = $3,000
Court fee = up to $2000? + possible loosing licence + possibility of jail.
Not sure on the 2000, although I had a friend hit with 2500 dollars for a reckless general ticket.
So....I could be paying around five THOUSAND dollars for a "ticket"......wow
This cannot be constitutional.

Just yesterday, Fox 5 and another news show went out and followed the VA cops around and did a story about the new law.
Overall, all they did was just pick off drivers coming down 95. One guy they picked off was doing 86mph on 95N. The cop issued him his summons for the speeding ticket and processing fee and then slapped him w/ a 1,000.00 fine that 1/3 of the fine is to be paid at conviction (hearing).

^Start ticketing the law makers and they "might" reconsider this law. Not that it would actually hurt their wallets or anything. It would just hurt their political standing during the next reelection since all traffic violations becomes public records.

The Governor in VA signed the law and when Fox interviewed him...his response was "That we are targeting our goal at 65 million dollar to be raised and that this law is targeted for repeat offenders, felons, etc. If you are a good/safe driver, then you will have nothing to worry about"
Now that is some BS
I have never met a good/safe driver who follows the rules. Everyone breaks them, its just when you break them...will you get caught
