VA Tint Waiver Form

For anyone interested, here is the link to the VA medical Waiver Application for tinting your windows. I went to my optometrist today and he wrote me a note and said there may be a form to fill out saying that I have enlarged pupils causing me to be super light sensitive. So, I if you have an eye appointment coming up, print one of thse out and take it with you...

You can go to the DMV site, and search for 'window tint', you should be able to find it.

No problem. So, it say with the waiver your are allowed up to 70% minimum light transmittance on the winshield? So, if I go 35% on the windshield, I am still illegal as hell?

35% tint only allows 35% of the light through the tint, correct???

Oh well, I will still be illegal but at least I will have a medical waiver allowing most of it...

No, in VA it is still illegal to have "tint" on the windshield. The glass itself can have that dark strip on the top down to a certain point, but it can't have any actual tint on it. (does that make sense?)

I can get the medical waiver if I want for tint due Uveitis/Iritis I have. But that still doesn't mean the cop can't pull you over. I don't want to give them any extra reason for them to pull my *** over and snoop around my car for other ****.

Agree with Destro. You are only allowed a 4" strip on the top with the waiver, but even then, most car manufacturers already do that for you by putting in some tint on the top part of the windshield.

Isn't that what i said in my post? The OP asked if tinting his windshield was legal. I thought I said "no"...

Yeah, you are allowed to tint the entire windshield up to 70% transmittance (which is nothing) with the waiver. SO, I will be illegal even WITH the waiver at 35% across the entire windshield....

Without the waiver your not allowed to tint the windshield at all except the strip at the top. Your also allowed to go to 35% on the front side windows with the waiver, so only my windshield will be illegal.
