Lots of conflicting stories from different news reports I've read but the story is unraveling. I still can't believe the count is 30+ and happened completely across campus.

Why wasn't the school locked down and cancelled after the first shooting in the morning?

I've heard asian american AS WELL, but yeah he could not be in cuffs since he shot himself which i believe is confirmed? Asking people who were actually very close to all these shootings, they say that someone got into a fight with the GF.. they were screaming and yelling at each other, the Resident hall advisor approached them and told them to be quiet, the Guy shot the RA and the gf and then lined up bunch of people and shot all of them. This is just a rumor no facts, so dont take my words from it ... this is what i've heard from people that i know who live in the dorms... 32 people have died and that is confirmed as well, i will be going to campus shortly possibly find out more info once things clear out.. will keep you guys posted.

It's not that easy to lock down a campus of 20K people roaming around in the matter of 2-3 hours. Besides, most students are asleep at 7am and do no check the news before rushing to class. Same with students commuting from off campus. It's just not possible unless you have someone guarding each door.

Yeah- from what I have heard, like Arjunz, from people on campus and the like is that in Norris he chained the doors shut when he went in and actually lined people up and shot them in multiple classrooms- sick b@stard.

+1

Also, the shooting happened around 715 am. You have to figure the authorites didn't get on scene and were able to issue a lockdown till at least 730.

My bro said they immediately locked down his dorm (where it started) but it takes a while to deploy officers across a campus of that size.

"After the first shots were fired, students were warned to stay indoors and away from the windows. But some students said they thought the precautions had been lifted by the time the second burst of gunfire was heard, and some bitterly questioned why the gunman was able to strike a second time, two hours after the bloodshed began.

"What happened today this was ridiculous. And I don't know what happened or what was going through this guy's mind," student Jason Piatt told CNN. "But I'm pretty outraged and I'll say on the record I'm pretty outraged that someone died in a shooting in a dorm at 7 o'clock in the morning and the first e-mail about it — no mention of locking down campus, no mention of canceling classes — they just mention that they're investigating a shooting two hours later at 9:22."

He added: "That's pretty ridiculous and meanwhile, while they're sending out that e-mail, 22 more people got killed.""

Plus, I am sure the officers figured it was an isolated incident in which the culprit would go and hide away from the scene. They would spend their time there investigating his identitiy and trying to track him down. Not to mention, I believe there was/were survivor(s) from the 1st scene who required medical assistance. It would have been nearly impossible to find him or gather any intel that would have suggested he was planning another attack, much less where he was headed in that short amount of time. The sheer number of similar aged, similar dressing, etc etc students on a campus of that size makes it nearly impossible to ID a suspect.

No, the guy in that picture was detained and then released. He will probably sue for being unjustly apprehended-

Showed another picture where they have him cuffed and sitting up againt the lookkout wall on the drillfield. Says he was detained shortly and released...
