Brake Shop in DC/NoVA

Hey Guys! Just moved to the DC area from ATL about 2 months ago. Took my car in for an oil change today to Infiniti of Tysons and looks like my front Brembos are done. Stealership wants $550 to replace pads and resurface rotors. Anyone know a brake shop I can go in the area that can replace for less? I have an 04 6MT Coupe. Thanks!

yes i got a service guy who works at infiniti that can hook you up. you'll have to buy your own brake pads online and the guy will resurface rotors and install pads. contact me through pm. Also I'll need to know when you want to do the service. Thanks.

unless your steering wheel shakes when you apply brakes..you don't need to resurface the rotor, I think it's just a dealer scam. Can some techie comfirm this? It always seem taht dealer want to resurface on every pad change. It's a scam since you can only resurface them once, so that next time you come back..BAM.."you need new rotor sir..please bend over.." As for the pads, get some HAWK HPS, and change them yourself. There's a DIY and with brembo's you're simply removing 2 pins, pushing out the piston, put anti-squeal stuff on brake pad..slide in brake pads, put 2 pins back in, install rims, them bed the brakes..save yourself the 2hrs+ of labor they would charge you. I'd help you, but i'm pretty busy. But if you're willing to drive up to me, I can do it for you in front of my salon. If you don't want to get your hands dirty, use LEK's guy or simply buy the HPS online, should be like $130/paid or so, and take it to any brake shop and have them install. They probably won't charge more than an hr of labor ($80-90).

^^hahaha, ya only time rotors need resurfacing is usually when you run the pads down to the metal and it causes the rotor surface to etch. Unless you track your car and they are warped (unlikely though). Just run your finger over the rotor surface (WHEN THEY ARE COOL) and you can you need resurfacing if you feel ridges...

For 30 better go to infiniti. It will take about 1 hour to take off the wheels and put them back on.

I'm not sure what you meant but $30 is for doing it on the side. And I work at Nissan not infiniti anymore.

$30 is a good deal for brake pad installation from a qualified tech. Not that we couldn't do it right, $30 is a steal
