Arrow VA Inspection Tip

I just got my car inspected today and I got flagged because I had clear corners w/ white bulbs...(yeah I know ).

Being that our car comes w/ amber corners and white bulbs...the only way to pass inspection is to have the stock setup or for those of us who have clear corners (alot of us do)...you have to place an amber bulb in there in order to meet inspection.

This amazed me because I never got flagged on it before, he said that some of the inspectors are starting to do more thorough checks...so just a heads up.

Luckily, I was having my inspection done @ IOC and the inspector told Gary and another guy and they luckily had some amber bulbs in his car that he gave to me, because they dont keep them in stock and they were replaced right there on the spot and I was on my way. So thanks to IOC because I cannot find my amber corners anymore and they are $65 each.

I dont know if this rule applies to MD or DC, but it does in VA....so just giving you guys a heads up. Of course you may get an inspector who doesnt care and then again...you might.

MD doesnt have state inspection like VA does. You guys have that AND have to pay property tax on your vehicle.

you didnt know that having clear corners without amber bulbs was illegal? Thats definitely a D.O.T standard. I kept my corners and old bulbs around just for this purpose.

Nope genius...I didnt know, but I do now.
Your definitely not a D.O.T. standard

As for tints, they are not checked. The only part that they check for on tints are your front windshield. There is a little line on the front drivers side of the windshield and if tint comes below that line, then you are in trouble.

I think the clear corners ban is a nationa wide thing, but I'm not sure. I'm sure they wont pass in MD though.

Just use a shop where you know people. They will take care of you.

Correct, window tint is not a part of VA inspection except for the windshield. There can not be any "tint" on the windshield at all! You can have the "glare reduction" on the top portion of the windshield that comes in the glass from the factory. But any aftermarket tint on the windshield is illegal.
