is crackdown really that good? i played it for 5 min and never got into it. i might have to pop the disk in this weekend to see why you guys are so excited about it

I got the "Free-For-All" DLC and had a good time with it this morning. Another friend of mine actually got the "premium content" as well. We're going to get online this weekend and try out all the new vehicles and weapons since it only takes one person for both to experience the Pay for add ons.
And yes, I think Crackdown is an excellent game, especially as a quick fix/limited play time game or as a stress reliever... just blow sh** up and let the bodies hit the floor.
