the next gen g35c IMO will not be an is350 killer nor will it compete w/ the BMW 335 (please dont even expect it to compete w/ the V8 M3..). the g35 may get a few extra ponies just like the sedan did but rather than revamp the entire engine (which they say they have by 80%...) it seems they are trying to squeeze more HP out of a similar setup. Hence the marginal gains.. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the coupe will do a 13.7-13.9 1/4 and prob. 4.7-5.2 0-60mph. so overall it'll be a tad quicker...but not by much. in general japan auto makers NORMALLY overrate their cars while germans underrate or are more conservative. Of course there are exceptions (skyline, supra era where the cars easily had 300+ HP but were rated at 276 b/c of japanese laws i believe...)

^+1....i just hope the engine will be a little more mod friendly with some noticiable and reasonable gains unlike its predecessor.

The more you fine tune a tuned engine, the less mod friendly it gets. I'm sure there will be some inefficiency left over to improve on, but don't expect be N/A improvement. Not that we get much from our current platform.

^yea true....i just dont like the fact someone else can spend 400 dollars and get 40+ horses and we get like 2hp....im not all into super super super fast cars cause with my luck i might end up through the concrete barrier and down the side of a cliff ....i just like to get a reasonable boost for the buck. I still love the G regardless. Id rather drive the G and not mod than be in a Neon and mod till i break the bank .

^^ya true. i dont think this engine will be mod friendly either. i wish they'd just up the displacement or make some real significant changes. im afraid they might just overrate the engine to lets say 330hp and then you dyno like 250whp. that would kinda **** me off, its all about the #s unfort...

I wouldnt call the G doing a 13.7 or a 5 second 0-60 just a tad quicker considering it was rated at a 5.5 0-60 and low 14 quarter mile.
