GT-R expected to retail for 60k says .... Autoweek

so yeah... not too expensive, i think it would cost more though considering the Z06 is 65k... this car is suppsoed to match or at least be in the same league in terms of power and torque ratings as the GT-R and porche 911 twin turbo...

for those that doubt the performance vs the Z06, the 3500lb 911 tt (997), has 475whp and AWD, its able to be at the same level as much lighter Z06 in 0-60 and 1/4 mile, its the top speed and acceleration after 120mph where the Z06 easily pulls away. GT-R will have almost the exact same weight, power, torque numbers as the 911 tt.

^considering it was originally estimated at 70k by most media organizations. If it does indeed come at 60k, id think its a pretty damn good price. only 5k more than the M3 yet its in a higher performance class

Thats great to hear (speaking of the price). Only thing to factor in is the kick in the pants dealer markup. Thats gonna be obscene!!

im pretty sure it will be very mod friendly as all factory turbos are, with bulletproof internal that can end up with 1000+whp, and run at 600+whp safely without ever worrying about cracking block or bending rods.

im buying the skyline straight out when the 2nd or 3rd version comes out...im trading my G now for the 08 concept when it drops....besides that could easily change depending on my situation and the way things are gowing with me. I could probably bump up to a ferrari 2 years from now...you never know...but to be realistic about the GT-R, i think its a def go for me. Or even yourself might get a supra when it drops...time will tell.

no dumb enough, but crazy enough???

.... Devon lol

I know people put down a lot of money, but I just did a quick estimate with 5.15%APR and 5k down, and the montly payment comes out to 1200 and thats just for the base without any markups..... That is chump change to some of the people that buy these though.

You will never see this car for 60k.It is a niche market. Thanks to video games and fast and furious This will never happen. It will be a special order car most likely.Like the Z06 dealers will not have them on hand. And if they do you will pay over invoice. The Z06 at the college park meet was 10000 over invoice. Now the new g will be closer to my price range. These will be like collectors items like the new saleen mustang or 350 gt mustang or cobra in the new body style you don't see many of them they are all like 50 -65000 bucks.

There is sure to be a markup when it first come out, but the markup will disappear after a few months. the Z06 can now be bought at or under MSRP. Almost every hot new cars get marked up, G35 6mt was marked up by thousands when it first came out, now you can buy one under invoice. Same goes for Lancer Evolution 8, M3, 300C, upcoming redsigned 07 G sedan.. price will come down after a few month for the GT-R depending on the supply and demand.

^^get off autoweeks nuts!!

i still think the price is speculation. again who will pay in excess of 50+ for a nissan?? i dont think it'll happen. lets see M3 for 55-60 or a skyline?? regardless of performance the brand image/name of BMW is just too much. look at how many ppl have 2 door 3 series BMW 330ci's vs G35 coupes? They paid well over what we paid for our G's and got a 2 door BMW that cannot perform anywhere near as well. I think the GTR will be somewhat of an NSX...a car that performs well, but nobody pays for. who pays 100k for an acura, regardless of what it is??? people will always pay for the name, and for 60k a BMW is just more believable
