Skyline Drive is a 105-mile road that winds along the crest of the mountains through the length of the Shenandoah National Park. The cruise provides vistas of the spectacular landscape to the east and west.




We’ll meet at Bob Evans Restaurant in Manassas at 10:00. The restaurant is just off of I66. We depart at 11:00 for a leisurely caravan to Front Royal - the north entrance to Shenandoah National Park.




Dinner will be at Big Meadows Wayside (about 51 miles south of the entrance). The Wayside houses a full-service dining room with carryout service and offers a varied menu of regional favorites and contemporary food.

Wow, maybe the G's should go there sometime, apparently only Z's go there...

 

You guys are more than welcome to come with us. It will be uber fun just like HIN where we had Gs and Zs. Some of those roads and scenery is just kodak moment breath taking. Specially in September it will be cool and you can put your window down and just hear those down shifts around the corner and up shifts going to straight. Not to mention when you get on the real top, it's just beautiful. The second picture from the bottom is one of the very very few of what you will be seeing for the whole 150Miles of the drive.

^^ Since the cruise is in September when schools are in session, Dave thought maybe putting out this advanced would be better so people could set their schedules and what not.

We can always do a mini one. But in September the scenery is at it's finest. You have your green then you have beautiful color changing trees which makes it blend in with the green. It's just better than any vacation man

Yeah I didn't know we had such a beautiful place so close. Thinking of taking the rants up there for a quick picnic one of these weekends until the big one to go with all of you.

I think the reason for Sunday is that most people on Z/G clubs still are in companies which are open on Saturdays as well ,and Sunday pretty much is an official week day off for people. Other than that, we already know that some people won't be able to make it if it was Saturday and again we also know the same for Sunday. So there are a few unlucky folks that would miss it day depending.

Also this thing is so calming and relaxing, the sound of the bird in your ear, the cool breeze going through your hair and your car sniffing the cool air so comfortably, you will be more ready for Monday than a Sunday that you would had woke up as late as in the PM time.
