okay...not gonna go into detail of what happended today lets just say i had to bum a ride to work and couldnt take the rental.....in that matter i started thinking i need spare keys for the G. The car only came with the one and i read it was suppose to come with a extra one, a valet one and i guess one extra for just opening the doors and not starting the car. Can someone here help me on this? Also would it be cheaper to go to an Infinity Dealer or a reliable Third Party if any?

dont you have to go to an infiniti dealer to have another key made since these days the keys are laser cut and "programed" for your car? I remember when my mom's X5 needed another key, and thats what the guy said, so we ended up going to the dealership.

 

^ yeah u do.. i dont think u will be able to make a duplicate outside..and plus our car keys have chips

 

only infiniti dealerships can make you extra keys, if i remember correctly its between 140-200 bucks per key+fob

 

A valet key just gets you in .If that is what you need maybe a lock smith .Try home depot they have a lot of keys.Some of the big locksmith shops do almost all keys.No you will not get the key with the chip,before anyone runs their mouth.We got like 3 keys with our cars look with your owners manual kit.You may have another yes i got 2 chip keys and a valet.

 

I worked at a car dealer and i have business with locksmiths.I have never seen a laser cut key.You would be surprised how many ways they cut them though.Yes the key is chipped.I have seen a tool that fits in your had that cuts key off your vin#.Like a large wire stripper.

 

My ex had a beemer everything is overpriced .Who at the dealership is running a laser key cutter.Think about it .Hell they can't even do simple stuff correctly.You can't trust any of these people just like the jiffy lube Video we saw.

 

okay...well ill give the dealship a shot and see what it runs...I know im not humping down to IOC ....anyone know of an Infinity dealership near the columbia Area or a reputable one that wont give me $h*t?
