Nissan seems not to understand how to design that reservoir cap. Z34 has this problem, G has it, B13 Sentra had the problem.

Dcs? Traction control? If so, then absolutely not, can't have fun with that on I still need to disable the yaw sensor tho.

The cap can't be air tight as it needs to allow room for the heated fluid to expand.

When power steering fluid pushes past the cap, it means that you have boiled the fluid and should change it ASAP, if you want a long life from your steering system.

Stillen & Z1 sell a larger/higher capacity power steering cooler.

B13 owners solve this problem by using a B14 power steering reservoir cap. No more leak while tracking. So, it's not a hydraulic issue, it's a vapor pressure issue. The cap as designed does not exert enough pressure on the gasket to seal the reservoir. I suppose venting the cap to a knock-out pot would help. The larger cooler is a plus regardless.

I don't know how much a Sentra solution applies to the G37.
However, I will be making a device to measure the power steering fluid at my next track day.

It should be interesting to see the temperature of the power steering fluid when the engine is at very high RPM and the pump is in bypass mode.

It will boil over out of the reservoir tank. That's what happened to me anyway.

Mine leaked out the top of the reservoir and dripped inside the passenger side wheel well and made a HUGE mess. It took me a few minutes to realise where it was coming from, I thought it was brake fluid and was freaking out for a while at first.

I haven't done a serious fast lap yet, so I can't say that I have. That sounds like it could be an issue tho, did you ever figure out what was causing it?

My next fast laps will be Circuit of The Americas, August 7-8 for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Tour. These 2 (3) previous track days were for shakedown.

Anyone driving at Road America Sept. 26 or with MVP track time Oct 8-9? I also plan to be there Sept. 18th for the vintage races and will drive in touring if anyone is around.

That's pretty cool. Did anyone ever make anything like this for the sedans? I fabbed up brake ducts for 2 of my Subaru's before and the Evo had mounts and factory brake ducts available as an accessory. Very cool.
