2012 G37 Sedan 1/4 time 13.592 @ 102.89

Hi Everyone!

I picked up a new 2012 G37 sedan Journey 7AT a few months ago in August. I just had a spontaneous idea to hit up Sacramento Raceway today since the weather was nice.

I did about 5 runs with a consistent 13.6. Unfortunately, they weren't giving out individual time slips and just printed out a group time slip for everyone to check out after a few runs in.

My best time is posted here at 13.592 @ 102.89mph. (top line)
Just incase someone is wondering what's with all the numbers, here they are from left to right:
Car number/dial time/reaction/ 60'/ 330'/ 660' (1/8) / 1/8 speed / ET (1/4) / MPH

Name: G37Timeslip.jpg
Views: 120
Size: 131.8 KB

I'm very pleased with my purchase and happy to know where I stand. I plan to add simple bolt ons, full suspension, rims, front lip, and rear diffuser.

Nice! These definitely aren't slow for a stock car.

It seemed like most stock times I see were around 13.9 so this is on the fast end.

Nice timing and nice garage you have there. What RPM did you lunch at?

That is an impressive time for bone stock (and 7AT), but your 60 foot time needs a lot of help. Back when I had my pretty decently modified Z28, I would get 2.1's with crappy tires and that is still pretty bad.

Work on that launch and you could probably shave another tenth or two off pretty easy.

Yea, I'm new to the forum and saw the drag section. Figured it should go in there.

I checked my other slips and was consistent at 2.2. The car only has about 2500 miles. I was tempted to launch higher but still wanted to baby it...for now

Were you able to hook/grip good with the brake launch?? Maybe that could have caused you to spin more? .. Good times though.

great time! running the car on a track is a rgeat way to see what it can actually do, not just seat-of-the-pants.

i'm sure you will be able to improve your 60' launch. my old '04 G35 6MT sedan consistently ran 2.1 60' times, but was 14.2-14.3 @ 97-99mph at the end of the 1/4 mile. our G37's must make all that power up high in the rpm range!

Take you car to another raceway or on another day. Sometimes they are not properly calibrated. Your stock 7mt is not running 13.5s

Just because you cant do 13.5s in your 6MT doesnt mean others cant do it in their 7AT.
