Watkins Glen Driving School videos
I did the Ultimate Driving School at Watkins Glen with the GVC-BMWCCA last week. There were 4 25 minute sessions on the track with an instructor on each day plus 4-5 classroom sessions and a ride along session in the instructor's car. The ride along session was like being on a roller coaster for half an hour straight, it totally wiped me out.
Most of the videos I took were too long, but YouTube accepted these two.
Day 1 run session 2, camera mounted inside the car:

Also, more info about how the car held up here:

Basically, I just had to add more brake fluid as the brakes went from brand new to mostly gone in two days...

There's another one in September. It's $425 with a $100 discount for first timers. You also need to become a BMW-CCA member ($50) and get your car prepped. (Replace brake fluid, pads, etc).

The BMW clubs throughout the country puts on some very good driving schools. I was trained by them on and off for over a year and learned a lot about running a track event as well. Given the capabilities of the car, it looked like you were going for a Sunday drive. Of course the videos don't really give you the best indication of what the true speed was like. Now keep practicing what you've learned and do more schools to get better. I sometimes can't get enough of track schools, not just for me but also for my students. I really enjoy teaching new skills to drivers who never realized how much their cars can do safely even at high speeds and difficult courses with the right training. Our whole society needs more of this knowledge and training but that's another story.
