Raced my 08 G37s vs 12 IPL 1/4

Although it may sound counter intuitive, that wide of tire front and rear definitely creates more rolling resistance and can easily slow you down by a couple tenths and couple MPH in a quarter mile.

when it comes to 5at vs 7at its preference, i went with 5at cuz it was more responsive on downshifting. the 7at may seem faster because youre shifting more and sooner when you accelerate but until someone dyno a completely stock 5at and completely stock 7at on the same dyno same day while im present i wont believe what im told. not to be stubborn but its how i am and the truth gets strecthed on forums more than anywhere

As stated, the 7spd is quicker then the 6spd, regardless of power to the ground (which is fictous in itself as they make the same power) therefore 7spd quicker then 5spd, not to mention the IPl has bolt ons (exhaust and intake) and lighter wheels with stiffer suspension to reduce squat and hook up a little bit better. There are many factors that go into it. If you want a better time then get a sedan quicker then IPL right out the gates

-6mt has more power one the dyno than the 7at which makes it faster, im not sure why you say regardless of power to the ground the 7at is faster...
-ipl has same suspension has the sport
-sedan's weigh less and i guess that why you think that, IF the sedan is .3 seconds faster at the end of the 1/4 you really think you can say proudly it beats them out of the gates as if it isnt even close? if the difference at the end is .3 the difference in the beginning will be less.
also the suspension these cars are equiped with dont make the suspension stiffer for drag race purpose but side to side purposes. even with aftermarket sways for these cars wont help the drag time stiffness wise. domestics have sway bars that transfers the weight to the rear by keeping the front of the car together so its harder for the front end to lift up.

Jimmie did you ever drive a 6MT?
And just because "It's all over the internet" doesn't make it right

**if youre telling me an automatic has more wheel hp than the manual version on the dyno with the same engine then this conversation is over and i would appreciate you not ruining my thread anymore thanks

A manual has the potential to be faster down the track period. More HP at the wheels, but ONLY if the person shifting it, is right on the money with speed and total accuracy. It's that simple.

ive owned both and I work with the cars, the 7at is faster then the 6mt period. And I can tell your facts are wrong because the sedan weighs less then the coupe, not the other way around. Ipl does not have the same suspension as the sport, it has different settings on it. And by saying the sedan is quicker then the IPL out the gates is in reference to from factory, not a whole shot.
