Pontiac G8 GT vs. 08 G37S Coupe 5A/T

Will our car stock for stock beat a G8 in a straight line?

IIRC they are pretty close. G8 has a bit more power and torque, but also if you can imagine...more weight. I think their 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are about the same.

I'd love to drive one of those cars. Not sure I would ever buy one, but just to check them out. I've heard quite a bit of good about them.

My boss owns one that I have driven petty frequently, ehh... it doesn't do much for me. Of course it has V8 torque, which is nice, but other than that it is pretty mediocre. He has GT, not GTP, by the way.

Pontiac HAD a tendency to turn me off because of their cheap looking interior. I drove a friend's G8 GT and it had a lot of torque, but you could tell it was extremely heavy for the amount of power it had.

It's not much heavier than a G37 and it has a lot more tq and a bit more hp
