Yet another Sedan vs. Coupe - @ TRACK -
I understand that the G37 Sedan is slightly faster on the 1/4 mile (due to weight) but what about on a large track with turns.
How would the track times compare to each other? (Sport sedan vs Sport coupe)
Is it true that the G37 Sedan Sport shares identical suspension equipment as the G37 Sport Coupe?
Does one handle better than the other? If so, why?
I apologize if it has been asked before.

search around. i haven't seen too many local guys w/ 1st gen coupes catch me on the 1/4 mile with my '06 6mt sedan... i ran 14.002 while guys with coupes are running 14.2-14.3...
it's also with experience, track conditions...
they should all be close but bottom line... it comes down to the driver

At a road course, we can't say, because we need more people to track their cars.
The coupe's two advantages are a more aggressive suspension, and lower center of gravity.
It's major disadvantage is its weight.
In my experience, the Sedan is easier to drive hard; I could get the rear to push out on the coupe at command.

People bother because the coupe looks better. People bother because some people like two doors.
I personally love the sedan because I know it's built off a coupe platform. I love that Nissan offers a sedan version of this car without taking any of the sport appeal away. It wasn't until 2009 that they truly made the sedan and coupe the same IMO. They now share brakes and steering ratio.

The ride could also be harsher on the coupe because it has 19" wheels.

Remember, the sedan is targeted at a different market from the coupe. However, the coupe actually has an older average purchase age
!

A sport sedan's ride (subjectively) is close to that of a non-sport coupe. A sport coupe, even with 18's, rides noticeably harsher than a non-sport coupe. I'm not talking about feeling things on the road; it's more about how they are absorbed. The spring rate (and valving) has to be higher.
This is in my experience.

!The only car you buy for the track time is something exotic. Although these cars run well, I would not say they are exotic. Poeple buy 4-doors or 2-doors based on syling and preference not track time or wieght. If you bought this car for the track skils, then I think you bought the wrong car.
