G37s 1/4 mile times stock and modded ?

Not to get off topic but I sometimes think we want a little too much outta our G37's, myself inclued. I had a boosted scion tc before the G, and it felt quicker from a dig for sure, but in reality it wasn't, it was simply perception. I think the G is faster than it feels, I sometimes feel my G is a sled when I go WOT in gears 1 and 2, but then look down at the speedometer and realize I'm halling some serious azz. I think the high redline and weight of the G contribute to it feeling "slow" at times when you really hammer it.
But as I stated above, I sometimes think we want too much, we want it to feel like a tuned STI or a boosted 350z, and yet still have the luxury and plushness that we get with the stock G37. The simple fact is you really can't have it all unless u either boost the G or accept that it's one or the other, either u want pure performance without the luxury, or you accept the luxury of the G with decent performance. Or of course if we had 100k we could have a GTR, but even then u are giving up the plush interior we enjoy in the G. I guess we could have 2 cars, a fully tuned STI for spirited driving and our stock G37 for those luxury cruises from day to day, that would work right?? Now if only I had the money for the STI without giving up my G, LOL!!

Took mine to the track with 120 miles on it, so the times will get better with a properly "broken in" engine
I ran a best of 14.2 @ 101.3
This was on a 102 degree day. Trak temp was over 127 on the blacktop
This is 100% stock.

You fellas are either not driving the car properly or it's a big waste of $$$.........im looking into getting a 37 but ima turbo my max first then i will see whats up.

I haven't seen any new 1/4 mile times posted since the car was first released. Not sure what happened to all the 1/4 mile racers on the forum.
Most people on here might just be track racers and not 1/4 mile racers.

ya good point. I think some people might be waiting for the summer to end to get a chance to hit that ideal sub 14 time in better conditions. Until now people might not have hit post-worthy times. I know I myself am waiting for fall to see what I can squeeze out of my pig on the track. One thing I know for certain tho, I'm never going to fontana again. Constant bad conditions there. My 2.1 sec time to 60' and good shifting deserved a much better time than 14.5.

Running the car on a road course IMO is not only more fun but, it's what the G37 is better at. The car wants to see a few turns.

LOL, this reminds me when I went and got an exhaust piece put on my car and a STI and EVO where there to get dynoed. The STI was alright and the EVO was junk. They were part of the same group. Well my car just got done being dynoed and one of the guys comes up to me and ask how much I am putting down. I tell him 285HP the last time I dynoed. He goes "that's it!" I gave him a hmm look like dude it is NA V6. That is pretty good. His friend pulls up his boosted STI which is mostly stock and he dynos at 260HP. The guy then pulled up his Evo (I was a Mitsubishi and I think it was an Evo). The dyno tech is looking at the front wheel as he pulls it on the dyno. He gets out and checks it and the guy goes over there. They guy tells the dyno tech that the wheel fell of due to the bolts on the rim not being tight enough when he bought it so now the front wheel looks a little wobbly. Well they do the first dyno and I think he put down 205HP. He was a little disappointed. He turned his boost all the way up and the best he got, I think, was 240HP. I smiled on the inside. He had very small stock breaks and the suspension needed major work but he is interested in getting the most power out of the engine. He wants to put down 300-400HP but have it on that suspension and those brakes....makes no sense to me. I hope the shop points him in the right direction and gets him to upgrade the brakes/suspension if he starts to do this power upgrade.
