335i vs G37 at the drag strip

BMW's are great cars, They always have been except for resale value and Electric Issues that are related to German Cars, They seem be to be the King Machine, I totally agree with that, theres a reason all magazines and people rave about them, but there always comes a time where you have to realize theres other competitor companies out there that can sometimes end up being better, and the time will slowly come where this will happen, but for some Reason I just dont like the looks of 335i's and the interiors, people say they look hot, and I look at them and say, that plain old boxy looking sedan, Hell I think a Acura TL Type-S Looks hotter, even the interior, But to each his own
four pipes

Just half a car length. There wasn't much room from light to light to really do anything. I was just shocked that when he took off, it was not like a progressive pull i.e. we are side by side and he evenutally passes, it was more like a instant jump to a car length, then I was able to bring it down to half a car. I didn't rev high or do neutral bomb. It was just a friendly race to see who takes off faster. The G37 manual is probably even or faster than a 335i auto, we just need a 1/4th to prove it. If we do another run but a longer distance or get to a track I will record it on film.
I love the G37 but there is no way in hell a stock G37 ( 6MT or 5AT ) is going to beat a 335i 6AT or a 335i 6MT. GET OVER IT. An MT will not transform the 37 into a 335i killer or even close. I didn't mean to vent but im so tired of the " the MT is .2 or .4 quicker" crap.

The VQ35HR is not the winner here. The VQ37 is way better, it's just the fact that the VQ35HR is mated to a light @ss car. If the G37 was as light as the 350z with the VQ37, we would probably be running in the 12's stock with way higher traps. If the 350z gets the VQ37, it would be a very insane car.

i wonder if the Z 'mule' seen around the ring' has the VQ37...or maybe something else...VR?
of course the G37 can be lighter without the steel reinforced doors, and air bags
...<wooops just reminded me about your accident thread..lol>

OR if you got the Money get a GT-R!
The G37 is Luxury first, Sport Second

[QUOTE=Raheel;2243924]I know the Pipes look hot, you have to see the Pipes on the Lexus IS-F, they look wierd as hell, One on top of each other
What was especially gay was that photo in a review of the IS-F that showed the pipe ends not hooked into anything! The reviewer stuck his hand up under the car and you could see that they weren't even connected to the exhaust. That turned me off that car almost as much as the unexpected pricing.

Probably not until they start coming out with some turbos for this and the G.
As for the GT-R, we all know the competition for this car is very very few.

I think that in the end the G and Z will be a better platform for modding than the 335i in terms of bang for the buck. The prices for something as simple as an intake for a BMW can be double or even triple that for a G or Z. And lets not go into engine work and tuning you could and probably will spend a small fortune there. 10k will probably get you a very nice twin turbo kit with tons of potential and a good tune with probably a little left over to help with a good exhaust and you have yourself a 3.7 liter monster. while over on the bmw side 10k and you will still quite possible be on the stock turbos maxed out.
