Just have to accept the fact that the G37, in general, is slower than the 335i, regardless.

i think car and driver got 4.9 on the 0-60 on the 335i's 6AT.
it's kinda funny that BMW was all about N/A engines for the last 25 years pushing the 'purist' aspect of it. while nissans has had numerous cars with turbos especially GT-Rs, 300Zxs, etc. now with the 335i and G37 we get a "switcheroo"...the BMW is the faster at the 1/4 mile and from the dig while the G37S handles better on the track...lol. how did that happen?? lol

I be honest, just a few 10th of a second does NOT mean crap on the street race. OOpps, I'm not suppose to promote or incure any street races here... but you got my point. Using the marriage concept, get the car you can afford, one of your taste, and one that you are in love with.

Does this make me hate my car or want me to buy more mods? NO. I still love my car and my friend respects mine.
I just thought I would share the few 10ths of a second story and how it DOES make a different on the street. At least comparing these two cars.
A nice ECU upgrade (A/F mapping + timing advance) and some spacers should put us on par with a stock 335i. At the moment I could careless.

^^ I think what he means is the difference in power is not enough to impact the enjoyment of normal driving on a back country road for example. Yeah 3 10ths is about 3 cars lengths in a 1/4 mile, so its a pretty good gap in any race.......

lol, I was not going to reply however, my friend just bought a 335i coupe auto with the same options I opted for when I was going to buy one. I wouldn't call this a street race but, we had a friendly match up and let's just say that even a light to light run, they are faster no matter how you look at it. We only did it once but, it's funny how the torque in that car automatically has them pull hard right off the line to like a car length.

+1 on your comments. the 335i is just the faster car in a straight line. i bought the G37S because i felt it was the best car for me and it was the most fun to drive. anyone can be faster....it's if you bought the car that fulfills your needs. and the G37S is a blast! great power, great handling, great amenities...
