Aftermarket Throttle body?

I was wondering if any company has manufactured an aftermarket throttle body for our vq motors yet? and if so wouldnt a bigger intake tubing be required?

typically a larger throttle body involves boring the internal diameter to make it bigger. since the outside diameter remains the same, the intake tube doesn't need to change. there are a few JDM options, but they are obscenely expensive and the HP/$$ ratio isn't worth it. if you have forced induction and you are trying to get every last ounce of power of it, then maybe.

In my experience with modding several non-Infiniti cars, I have found that the throttle body is rarely the culprit of airflow restriction. The OEM throttle body is typically bored large enough to flow all the air the engine needs to make maximum power. More commonly, the airbox/filter before the throttle body, and the exhaust components (headers, cats, pipes and mufflers) are far more responsible for "breathing" issues than is the throttle body. I would imagine negligible power gains, at best, from putting a larger throttle body on a naturally aspirated engine.
