Thanks NYG37S!

BB, yes, some have just been able to twist it off. Some are easier than others but the majority of them were hard to take off. One guy here forced it and broke something from within the shifter so be careful.

4 to go!! Thanks to everyone that signed up. About a week left until the deadline so please hurry!!

Heh, careful Betty, you might have been twisting the actual rod when you felt it twist. Mine started to do that even with a vise grip around the rod. That's when I gave up and let the dealer do it.

Is the stock shift boot usable after installing the short shifter? I don't see why it wouldn't be, but still.

I'll keep that in mind. If i get it, it might be easier to take the shifter out and put it in a bench vise to take the **** off.

I just worry if I do this that my TWM **** will sit too low. I guess I can always sell the shifter if I don't like it, so why not... sign me up. It's $40 off usual price anyway. Does it ever need to be regreased?

As a side note, how can I make the neck of my shift boot round instead of the oval it is now? It's sort of oddly shaped now that my shifter doesn't have an oval base.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout Voltic! Thanks for signing up! I just looked at the TWM site and your Leopard **** is height adjustable so no worries about it sitting too low. As for the neck of your shift boot, I don't know. You may have to call TWM and see if they have a solution for that.

BAM. ME. IN BIGASS LETTERS!

Can't we get the 370Z guys in on this?

Also any idea about eventually needing to regrease it?

There I fixed your name to small letters. Happy? As for the 370Z guys, I really didn't think to post there. TWM was already iffy about letting our own members purchase shifters for a different vehicle and said that they would let it slide this time to help get our 10. I think they like these group buys to be forum and vehicle specific. They are members of a bunch of other forums but not ours bcuz the fees to be a vendor here is too much I guess. But I'll ask about it and also for the regreasing question.

Alright. Well, the reason I suggested the 370Z is because TWM probably uses the same part for both.

Also I thought this may be of assistance to you:

LOL! There I fixed it again! If you look at my other counts it had the 8 on there. So Shuussshhh! Must have deleted it by accident.

Anyway, I sent them an email and mentioned exactly what you said so we will see..

On another note, you work nights too or something?

Haha, I know. Just fun to bust your chops.

Actually I'm deployed right now, it's only 6:30PM where I'm at, at the moment.

Voltic, so here's the word from TWM. On install, apply a liberal amount of grease to it and it never needs to be re-greased!

They also said that we can solicit this group buy on any other forum except for my350z.com. I've been up all night working so I'm gonna go sleep. So I'm gonna solicit on other forums tonight when I come back to work.....Unless one of you motivated members want to take it up for action to help me out. Thanks!

I'd do it but our DNS is broken as usual and I can't get to the370z. Some random sites just don't work from here. I'm on my way to bed anyway.

Come on guys, get your short shifters, it's $40 bucks off retail (15%) and TWM stuff is top-notch. I love my A6 Leopard shift ****! It's heavy so it makes throws easier and flows sick with our aluminum trim.
