Advice,Mod list where to start?
Whats goin on everybody?
ok i plan on buying a 08 g37s 6mt when i get back from this deployment coming up and i should have about roughly $8500 to spend on the car for upgrades. I have a list of mods that i kno i want to do to the car. The goal im looking for is to upgrade everything at pretty much the same pace, not spend too much in one area of the car.
I was just wondering was some upgrades that you would recomend starting off with??
What are some mistakes that you have seen other ppl make as far as upgrading?? i just dont want to spend to much money to fast and then realize i bought too much.
initial upgrade wish list:
Engine/performance-
Ark exhaust :$1,300
injen cold air intake: $550
B&M short shifter-: $100
Suspension/handeling-
tanabe sustec coil overs: $990
Hotchks sway bars: $400
exterior-
Rims/tires: no more than $3000 hopefully lol
tint: $200
Audio system- no more than $1000
And i do realize that the answers to this question could vary by alot, im just tryin to get a better picture of the future thats all, any help you could provide i would appretiate.

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want to do with the car. I think suspension modifications are a good place to start. Coilovers and sway bars would be on the top of my list, followed by wheels and tires. Those are my thoughts. Welcome...

I'd start with coils, then wheels. I look at it as get the big mods outa the way then get the smaller cheaper ones, don't spend 1k on a stereo and have A stock exterior is my Opinion

It's really up to you, first you gotta choose between performance or appearance. Whichever holds more priority for you. Just get quality parts so you don't f' up your ride. I plan on using my re-enlistment bonus for a supercharger (fingers crossed), good luck with the deployment, stay safe.

Sounds like you've done some research on parts! I'd say save that $1k for audio and spend it somewhere else. The audio system in the G is difficult and expensive to work with, and you're looking at tapping the rear speaker lines to add a subwoofer.
Hit me up in about a month, I might be headed to VA later this year and have intentions to sell my ARK exhaust and Injen CAI for uh... better things, so to speak.

Yeah absolutely, the ARK originally came from another guy on the forums. We've both taken pretty good care of it. Just gotta be careful, I recommend buying locally, or from well-known members. I've had good experience so far, with the exception of the Hypertech I bought from a certain forum member. Anyway, I have nothing but time, hit me up when you're actually in the market, I'm deployed myself right now saving up the money to get what's replacing my current toys.
Stock audio is pretty solid, if maybe just a hair under loud enough with the windows down. Bass leaves a little to be desired since there's no real "subwoofer" unless you count the front speakers.

don't forget to check out the marketplace. A lot of the things you want can be bought used for a significantly lower price.
I would suggest this in the following order
1) coils + sways + tint
2) wheels
3) exhaust
4) CAI
