im a performance first type guy, I would get: Test pipes, catback, intake, motordyne intake manifold (ill review when i get mine, so im just saying that because its a performance bolt on). I like my undriven stillen pulley as well

As for handing: coilovers, sway bars. Sway bars made the BIGGEST difference to me.

Spoke to a sales rep @ STS... they will be measuring a G37 over the weekend as it is slightly longer than the 370z. He advised to expect it for sure in the near future.

I have a list of mods that i kno i want to do to the car. The goal im looking for is to upgrade everything at pretty much the same pace, not spend too much in one area of the car.

I was just wondering was some upgrades that you would recomend starting off with??

What are some mistakes that you have seen other ppl make as far as upgrading?? i just dont want to spend to much money to fast and then realize i bought too much.

initial upgrade wish list:
Engine/performance-
Ark exhaust :$1,300
injen cold air intake: $550
B&M short shifter-: $100
Suspension/handeling-
tanabe sustec coil overs: $990
Hotchks sway bars: $400
exterior-
Rims/tires: no more than $3000 hopefully lol
tint: $200
Audio system- no more than $1000

And i do realize that the answers to this question could vary by alot, im just tryin to get a better picture of the future thats all, any help you could provide i would appretiate.
IMHO, for the money, there is no bigger bang for the buck on your list then upgrading to a stiffer set of sway/anti-roll bars. You WILL notice an improvement in handling and find yourself enjoying the ride more during "spirited" driving. Search around for opinions on what to buy; but I chose the Hotchkis "Sport Suspension" set b/c of its multiple settings and reputation on this forum.

Happy Modding!

Here's the modding order I'd recommend.

1-Tint
2-Coils+sways+strut bar
3-Wheels
4-exhaust+intakes
5-headlight work
6-bodykit
7-Stereo with whatever cash is left

Ive owned my G for not quite a year. Ive done every bolt on mostly from stillen. If you have 8500 to spend on parts this is what i would do.

5800 SC- best bang for your buck. break things down by $ per hp. this will be the cheapest and make you the happiest
1000 install/tune
230 for a GT spec strut bar. G's dont have this and it is need since these are heavy cars. My steering felt so much tighter.
500 engine oil cooler is a must!!! these engines runs hot! every magazine highlights that, these cars go into limp mode and have half the power.

Leave the rest for your exhaust its all preference. I just installed headers and I would highly recommend you not do that. G37's already have a shorty type header stock. I only gained 8 hp. but i did have hfc and catback already. either way im in $1300 for 8 hp when you can spend under 7000 and get 125-150 with a SC.

Message me if you want to know more of what i got done. Im shooting some video for the last part of my car break down tomorrow and I should have it edited for posting tomorrow!

1). Take your time -- hasty &/or "unresearched" purchases and installations lead to buyer's remorse

2). Be mindful of performance impacts and cost efficiencies when sequencing multiple modification steps.
3). IMO, given my experience so far, the biggest bang for the buck was upgrading to aftermarket front and rear sway bars. The improvement in handling was very significant and readily experienced in the drivers seat.

Enjoy the (modification) ride!

I'm surprised to be the first one saying this, but, unless you REALLY want a G and just want to do bolt-ons to have a modded G, then that's OK and you've got plenty of advice. BUT - if your trying to get the best performance&power, with $8500, you can probably find a different used car with that kind of extra money.
