Tanabe VS Megan Racing in Coilovers. OPINIONS please!

Hello!

I am debating on which set to get for my 2009 G37S. Does anyone have Tanabe or Megan racing coilovers? Any opinions on quality or faultiness? I would really appreciate it!

Thank you

Megan... YUCK!

That's all I gotta say.

Check out BC Racing's offerings as well. They are very good, and quite affordable.

I definately would not say yuck, but there is a member on here with the megan coilovers and he loves them. Megan makes high quality stuff IMO. And If i am not mistaken megan coilovers are the same as another brand just, re branded I think it may actually be bc. But dont hold me to it, The other thing I have been looking into getting the megans, just read some reviews from other forums other cars etc. And most people say they are built very well, And in some cases have lasted longer then Tein's. Do I beleive that, some what but if you arent going to track your car it may be a bit more then you need but to each his own
. Good luck

BC makes megan coils........ Bor chuann racing makes a couple different types of coils and megan is one of them. They are ok but I hear that they start to wear out after 10k miles or so.

I installed a set of Megans on my buddies sedan and they were very nice quality, especially for the price. My other buddy has them on his coupe and loves them. They also have a ton more adjustabilty than Tanabe.

Yea, Tanabe's are great for the DD that wants to lower and IMO actually improve the ride quality over stock... it's like actually putting on shocks, some may say a bit too squishy even. A set of hotchkis can tame that nicely. If you're needs exceed that, look elsewhere.

I have had Tein and Tanabe Sustec Pro 7 on my Z . I have Megans on my G and have No issues and honestly I cannot tell a difference between the Megans and the Tanabe that I had . I would pass on Tein .. I just did not care for them...

ive had 2 sets of megans, one for my 240sx and one for my Civic Si. Ive never had a single issue with them quality is never lacking.
in addition to the Coil overs I've also used their turbo manifold, headers, test pipes, and cat backs, i have always gone Megan if i have a choice.
i haven't started modding the G yet but once i do it, my first stop will be to Megan
A for the people who constantly hate on Megan, they are usually pissed they spent more money on something else that turned out to be just as good.

Megan and tanabe Are the same. I've heard no issues with them. I don't get why peoPle don't like the Megan coils maybe the name? Anyways I wouldn't get tanabe just because there is no damper setting only ride height

What i know Megan racing is Honda specialist , they are a bit stiff.
Tanabe's are good and for comfort driving with good handling.

You get what you pay for, and neither are a product I'd recommend anyone to buy.

I'd go with the KW's, but if that is out of your range then go with the Megans for better adjustability.

There is a group buy on KW's that offers an excellent price.

Good luck with your decision.
