To install aftermarket intakes, the stock airboxes are removed.

The Stillen Gen 3 CAI (cold air intake) requires some minor cutting of the holes that the tubes need to run through--it will be through the holes that the lower air ducts from the stock airbox go through. The holes can be cut easily with a dremel type rotary tool. The Stillen Gen 3 intake filters will sit behind the front grill. The Injen CAI requires removal and replacement of the washer fluid tank and sits down inside the lower bumper. Both CAIs are installed typically by removing the front bumper.

Short ram intakes can be installed without removing the front bumper.

+1 Best answer.

If you are concerned about removing your front bumper and cutting away or relocating your washer fluid tank. Simply go with an SRI (Short Ram Intake), no cutting, I have one and I am more than pleased with it. Installs in less time and looks great too.

You're in for a lot of reading then, you sure you want intakes to start with?

Intakes I believe have one of the largest shares of threads in this forum, look around

To OP... R2c is just what you're looking for. Remove stock intakes, put those in. Simple.

R2C is the only company making the whole system, intake and filter and they specialize in filter design. If you look at my Access Port captures you'll see their CAI design does indeed intake cool air while the cars in motion. The Takeda would have been my second choice, negs are minimal heat shielding and unknown filter quality. As far as filter, without a direct test between R2C's and Takeda's in terms of performance throughout the dust loading curve your guess is good as mine but I'd bet it's a decent setup and worth the bucks. Check your Air/Fuel ratio before and after installation to judge impact. Unless it leans out a bit which is doubtful since it's probably not as free flowing as cotton guaze you'll want to also do an exhaust and a tune to really maximize performance. On a good day with these three you'd be doing good if you can pull 25+ HP. Lot of bucks for an intake, exhuast and tune for such small gains but then you definately won't want to go back after feeling it and the sound is pure music and a primary motivator that makes it worth it as well IMO.
