Hi guys listen I'm looking at getting an axle back and was wondering which ones there were out there and what your favorites were. The only two that I've found are the Tanabe and Megan. Any others?

 

Tanabe and megan are popular. There is also the greddy Ti-C which you may want to look into. All in all none of them really give you power so it amounts to which look/sound you prefer. Do some research and watch some clips. Good luck

 

I'm going out ona limb here by suggesting you look into getting a custom axel back done at a local muffler shop. That way you would have a wide range of muffler styles. I'd call/visit any muffler shops by you that have a mandrel bending machine. Check out Vibrant mufflers. I had a pair of the flat black 1148s on my Maxima and loved them.

Yeah I have, I'm leaning towards the tanabe. Just wish I could hear one in person

 

I had Fast intentions CF catback w new style X pipe and sold it for Tanabe mufflers till my. New Fast int Catback arrives... And let me just say Tanabe mufflers are insane . They sound sooo good for mufflers alone , if I didn't love Fast INt so much I would keep these and be done w it , they really offer exotic sound for the $$$ and look sweet , not bad Tanabe , I will sell these in October When my New SS Fast INT comes in w New Style X pipe and 12" resonators gotta love the performance of Fast though. Seriously Tanabe surprised the he'll out of me as far as sound goes. Def a great bolt on ! Def screams at wot , still retains VQ throaty sound and WOW I was just broke
Between fast and tanabe in the end only cause Tanabe sounded that good. Fast in still wins it for me though because of perf/overall sound/looks fit and finish, FI
Mufflers look mean from rear but Tanabe very subtle and clean , love the Tips

 

If I were buying an axel back I would just buy tanabe .. Everyone seems to have such high opinions of that exhaust and from what I've heard on YouTube it sounds awesome.

Thanks man^ yeah I'm enjoying it but looks like things are gonna work out for me and I'm keeping my order w Fast Int although I did Swap for 12" resonators this time I had called Tony back and told him since I'm leaving stock cats I wanted it Lil louder so I changed from 18" > 12" resonators and SS mufflers I just miss the look of the FI canisters !!!

 

Dude... 12 inch resonators, you crazy lol. I had the 18 inchers and they were loud enough, although I am running Berks too.

 

Lol yeah 18" was loud and even when I tested MXP w stock cats it was way louder than FI , now I always wanted to add HFC to my Fi w 18" res but thought would be to much so 12" w stockk cats should sound good .

 

If performance/cost wasn't a factor and purely based on sound which would you go with Tanabe or FI?

Oh boy.. are you serious ?? I was on the fence about even changing my stock exhaust until i get some wheels/drop but... if it's that good....

Just for fun how would you rate the stock exhaust from 1-10 vs tanabe exhaust from 1-10

 

Tanabe is 10 because think I'm coming from a full Fast intentions exhaust I jut borrowed tanabe till I ordered a new system and just for mufflers alone , it sounds almost identical in volume to Fast int, w mufflers alone you not gonna need a full exhaust lol !! It's loud man an deep and throaty , really sounds good and almost better than fast int, I was like why am I dropping 1400 on full catback this thing sounds really really good! Deep/throaty/ very loud=tanabe!!! I think there was a reason they only designed mufflers, it's because the rest was not neccesary to change ! Slap on tanabe and you will see , you gonna feel like you want more of that beautiful tone it gives and want the Y pipe /mid pipe and HFC I bet that would sound insane

 

I sold my fast intentions and put stock exhaust back on and was like WtF this Thing is to quiet and I found local tanabe mufflers and purchased till my new fast int gets here since it's a month or two wait , but I didn't know tanabe would sound this good! Stock exhaust is very raspy and quiet compared to tanabe wich was deeper throaty and smoother sounding even just cruising I had ppl tell me my G souded awesome. I was like Tanabe the **** lol
