modding help with G to be

Hey guys,

I'm waiting (as patiently as possible!) for the 2011 G37x coupe to come out, and plan on being the first to have it!!!

I don't know a ton about modding, but from what I read on the site (for a few months now,) I think I got a pretty good general idea.

Anyways, with that said, can you guys please help me out on what you think are needed mods to my future G? Money isn't really an issue.

Please have in mind that: it will be an X (from what I understand some mods don't work with the AWD.) Ill be forced to drive in snow being that I live in the east coast. I also like to keep it real classy. I plan on getting black on black, and some 19"'s from the dealer. Lastly, from what I understand the IPL is coming out in august too- so to keep that in mind...

Please explain the mod suggestion too!

Thanks a lot to all the help and suggestions!!!

Why 2 identical threads?

I would say lowering is a must. The wheel gap on G37 looks terrible IMO. Anything after that is preference. Do you want to look good or go fast or both? One is much easier to achieve than the other. I will leave it to you to figure out which is which.

^^ the two posts was by accident-phone internet.

what do you recommend to lower it with/how much?
Lol, well I'd obviously want both but if it makes a real big difference than I'm open for recommendations...
Thanks a lot!

IF your already getting your rims from dealer I would just drop it on eibach pro's and the Short ram intake (since you will be driving in rain and snow...) Maybe like R2C of Takeda and Cat back Exhaust like Fast intentions or Invidia Gemini of if you just want a deeper tone then axle back like Tanabe's Exhaust... As far as price is concerned check out the vender thread lots of great venders with great prices

SRi = $300-$450
CBE= $800-$1300

If you searched around and have a "pretty good idea", why don't you just look around and pick what you think is the best choice?

why are u getting wheels from ur dealer? why not get some reputable rims like volk instead? look into the gloss black volk G2 type II rims that lou@amplified is selling.. that would look bada$$ black on black, or maybe GT30 phantoms

Volk or Work wheels. Don't let the dealer steal your $.

As for performance mods... ERZ HFCs, Fast Intentions catback exhaust, and either R2c (easy install/maintenance) or Stillen Gen 3 (most gains but a more involved installation).

Lowering? Coilovers.

i listened to all of the exhausts, and i think i like the stillen the most. the lowering doesnt effect the AWD?
thanks.

I say this in almost every thread similar to yours. You first have to ask yourself if you plan on going F/I. If not then its pretty simple.

Intake
headers
exhaust
coilovers
tune

My original setup was Stillen gen 3 intake, stillen ceramic coated headers and full borla exhaust. I was able to push 317 to the rear wheels with no tune.

^^
Thanks a lot!
I have a few questions though.. I was planning on getting the eibach pro kit- what are the differences between getting that or coilovers?
Also I like the stillens but from what I've read, they're a bit of a pain to install. I'd rather something that doesn't need cutting and all that for instillation, but I really liked the sound..
If I do plan on going with F/I, than why does that complicate things?
Thanks
