ecu/chip mods

Yeah, I was talking about those. I just know there are alot of restricters programmed into our ecus. USA emissions regulations and what not. So was thinking it would be nice not to have them, and run as the car was intended.

thats not what i was looking to do. don't talk down to me just because I'm new to the forum. throttle response time is a little lag-ish for me. and I'm getting pipes and exhaust, so when I do I'm sure the car will not program itself to adapt to those mods.

ECU/Chips are useful for cars with forced induction.........they will do little to nothing on naturally aspirated cars, you'll get a litttttle extra power but not a significant amount.
cars that have bolt ons such as HFC's, intakes and exhausts....can get a little more power from ecu tunes
but like i said, our engines are naturally aspirated, so dont expect much from a tune

if the throttle response is lagging try the hypertech or grounding wires (PM Black Betty) if you have AT.
And actually the ECU WILL adapt to the mods you are putting on, so like ^^ said, take some time to learn about the ECU before trying to do any crazy things to it.

I beg to differ. I added all my bolt ons and reset my ecu. It does adapt itself due to VVEL, but I think true throttle response and better low end power was gained through my UPREV tuning. Honestly, my car became a bit sluggish after adding a better flowing exhaust with larger piping, true dual exhaust with xpipe. My car really comes to life now after the tune.
