Intake

Intake
I had to change my floor mats, well mine especially but they changed all of them. The spikes that dig down to the rug fell off where my feet rest. Getting in and out the car.
I tell my service manager and im fixing on changing my intake system to a cold air intake system. He looks at me a says, having those after market intakes doesnt protect the engine as good as Infinity intakes does. Many times sand get's in the engine and if I ever get problems and they see the intakes changed that I void the warranty.
Mean while he's the same guy that told me that there oil filters don't leak....pffff
Trying to put fear in me..
Better off not touching the car he says.

Infiniti made a good intake with their design, most aftermarket companies have trouble producing good gains from swapping them out. But they do sound nice. If they are an oiled filter you just have to be cautious not to over oil them and get the oil stuck on the MAF needles, and oil-less filters I've never had any issues of the sort, but I'm sure if you were driving more in the country, with a lot of dust it could cause concern. Worst case senario if something happened which you believe to be intake related, just swap them back before the tow truck takes it it to the dealer.

Most dealerships will install the intakes and cover them under warranty. Grubbs is a good example of that. Service Managers don't know to much. Talk to the guy at the parts counter.
