Nitrous..

I'm looking to buy a G37 soon.. I currently have my G35 that I modded to hell and back.. It is stock now and up for sale.

I know how crappy the G35 responded to mods..

HONESTLY, is the G37 going to be the same crap again?

If so, I'm going to say **** the BS and get a safe 75 shot of nitrous hooked up and call it a day.

Anyone else here running nitrous?

I love the G's, both 35 and 37 but wow... These cars are just too slow.. Seems like the 330 hp is over rated.

Why shouldn't I buy a 335i coupe and chip it/ or turn up the boost?

BTW: Yes this is my first post and I am a noob to this particular forum. I've done a lot of reading/ looking around but this site is too new.

You could run nitrous, but I wouldnt. You really should get a piggyback ECU and tune for it, but they dont have any for this car yet. Also you would want to run one step colder plugs.

Trust me though, the G37 feels much faster than the G35, and it pulls all the way to redline, while the G35 feels like it cuts out after 5k. I love this car, and wouldnt want my G35 back after driving it. The 335i is also very nice, but I didnt want to spend the extra money.

BTW this is TURBOTOM from G35Driver.

Oh, whats up man.. Didn't you have a turbonetics G?

Yeah, I made a dumb move when I bought the G35.. I didn't really read up on it.. I bought it, joined driver and realized that the car is pretty much stuck how it is performance wise unless you go F.I

Intake, exhaust and all that is just flushing money down the toilet.

I did beat an auto G37 off the line w/ my G35 several times... Only thing was that he was stock and I had the Central 20 3.9 Final Drive.

I just want something, sexy, luxury, performance, 6MT and RWD.

So far the only cars are the G37 and the 335i which I like.

Only thing thats holding me back on the 335i is that the dealer will void your warranty for the smallest thing.

Why wouldn't you run nitrous?

why don't you get a more mod friendly car... like an evo or sti... since it seems like you want to mod it pretty heavily...

Yea, I had a 35 with a turbonetics kit.

I wouldnt run nitrous on the car right now because there are no good piggy back ecu's to tune for the nitrous. I wouldnt want to run nitrous without a good tune.

If you are looking for a car that is going to be very fast with mods than a 335i might be better for you. They can get 400whp with intake, exhaust, and tune.

The 37 is a fun car, but it is no where near as fast or mod friendly as the 335i. Just remember that the 335i is about 10-15k more, so you could really put a TT kit on the 37 and have 500whp, for the same price as a stock 335i.

^ thats a good way of looking at it.

any TT kits currently avail for the 37?

Another advantage w/ the 335 is that they are stock TT so you can already up the boost or if something happens get it fixed w/ warranty and put it back to stock (cat and mouse, i know.)

I've been considering the EVO 10 MR

Not as great looking and luxurious as the G or the 335.

The luxury aspect is pretty big for me.

Yea, they already have a kit out for this car.

This motor has much stronger connecting rods than the G35, so it can handle 500whp on a stock block unlike the 35's that can only handle about 400whp.

if you speed stock for stock. 335i is the car for you. the g37 is no way a fast car.

some guy got 13.4 earlier today, so this car does have potential but not the potential the 335i have with a chip and exhaust.

13.4 means nothing to me... all depends on the altitude and condtions..

I bet you any money that a stock G37 wont break 13.999 here where I live.

You guys are talking apples and oranges here. ninous26, you are complaining that the G35 sucks unless you go FI but yet if you are looking at Evo, STI, or 335i's then you are looking at getting an FI car. The G37 does well with aftermarket parts being NA which you will see if you do a search on the forum in the different review threads. Now doing well is gaining around 10HP for a part which in my book is good for a part. Some parts give more and some less. If you are looking for 50+ HP out of a single part then get some NOS or buy a FI kit. If you are looking to get an STI or EVO the turbos in those cars suck so you will be upgrading that anyways. Now what I mean but sucks is that the power curve drops off rather quick although you can get the power up to a decent number.

10 hp from an intake or an exhaust with NO TUNE is amazing in my book.

Its just that I came off an N/A car where and intake showed 10whp/10wtq, pulleys showed the same 10/10 hp and tq, a cat delete showed 15whp.

whereas the G you throw on an intake and you lose power.. I've heard the same goes for the G37. $500 for an intake to lose power.
G35, you get an exhaust and your lucky to get 6-7whp

What car is this? Just want to know since I didn't see it in any of your previous posts. Not disbelieving you either, just would like to know.

It was an older 1991 Acura Legend coupe. 3.2 V6 of course

There is almost 0 aftermarket for this car.. but the parts you can get for it really do make a big difference... On the forums people mostly had their own custom exhaust stuff done.
