Modding on leased G37's

Was wanting to know everyone's knowledge of how extreme you can mod or the do's and dont's to modding a leased vehicle (G37)? Since most of us will turn the car back in after the term, what are the technicalities of modding a leased car?

Just got to take it back pretty much like you got it or buy out the lease. Ask Solo he probably is best qualified to answer this question seeing as he has about the most mods out there on a lease.

part it out before you return it, they might take it back as is, but you just completely lost all the money you put into the car. At least if you part it out you can maybe recover 50% of the total of your mods.

pretty much like that...i talked to the dealership lately and they said any painting mods are ok and dont void warranty such as painted grills, spoilers, rims...etc. as far as everything else just take it all off before you take it back

Thanks for asking this. I have been meaning to, but never got around to it.

What about clear-cornering the headlights or smoking the taillights?

As long as everything's back to par when its time to turn your car in, everything's good. Overlays can easily be removed. Intakes should not be a problem either. I wouldn't S/C or TT a lease, they could some how make you responsible for damages down the road. Not to mention its not worth the labor $$$ imo.

I have a lease and while I don't have any major mods now I plan to this summer. Everything I do is reversable though. I do plan now to buy it out after the lease but that could change. So HFC's exhaust intake are all good to do. If you keep you OE parts.

Some dealers can actually have different rules when it comes to mods. You can ask the dealer you're leasing from and ask them how they go about with mods. Usually, they tell you to consult with a technician at the service department at the dealer to see which mods and brands they will allow. I highly suggest doing that since you would know which part they are ok with and then you wouldn't have to worry about your mods when you go in for servicing.

i still have my 35... but i lowered it, tinted windows, a few different overlays, aftermarket wheels, z-tube,. shift ****, clear corners, and soem other stuff... just about everythign is reversible.... tint and overlays come off... springs come off... but ill probably just leave them... corners pop back on, wheels come off... everything comes off... pretty easy.
