Why do we mod our G37's?

But what about mods that don’t work, cause additional problems (e.g., bulb replacements that burn out sockets or blow fuses) void warranties, are illegal so the driver often get pulled over, result in emission test failures, bypass safety equipment, or are often just not affordable?

We mod our G37's because we are all ugly and the only way we can pick up a half good-looking, non-obese but still manly looking girl is by having a nice car to make up for it.
My hot model-looking girlfriend came before the G37 (but with the beamer) so I am no exception to this forum of uglies.

I was just bringing a prospective that isn’t usually mentioned around here. Just ignore it.

I've "personalized" my cars since before most members here were born. It's just something I like to do.
I took my old GSR to get the oil changed (when I still had it) and heard "hey, man, you gotta see this" then somebody else says "that's the old man that stomped [insert name] off the red light the other day!".
Yup, I like to mod my cars. Spent $20K on the GSR and put another $15K into it. That car would chew up a G37 and spit out 10 penny nails in the 1320.
I put $10K aside for the G37. 4K in the sound system, about 3K in the bolt ons. About 3K left for the suspension/ tires/wheels when the time comes. Well, maybe $5 or $6K. For me, that'll be the end of the mods. I'm already thinking GT-R for the next ride.
If you spend $40K on a car, I would expect that you'd have $5K or $10K to upgrade it. Maybe more if mommy bought it for you.

BTW, my first car was a 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air, and of course, I kept it stock. I wish I had it today. In that condition it would fetch quite a sum.

Well, if you enjoy spending an extra $10K on your G37 then it’s OK. I have the same $40K G37 and to date have spent $8.25 on a tube of new-car smell air freshener. Does that count as a mod?

My grandparents had a silver '57 Bel-Air with red interior. My first car was a '58 VW modded with a '64 40 HP engine replacing the original 36 HP. It was good for 78 MPH on level ground with no wind!
