How moddable is the G37?

Hi there,

I am new to the forums and am considering purchasing the G37 because of the overall package for price.

I just wanted to confirm if the G37S comes with 350 HP?

Also, are there many aftermarket products available for this car?

Does it compare to the Skyline where one can go nuts with modding and acheive high hp or is it like the E46M3 where you are pretty much stuck with the option of weight reduction since adding any significant gains is hard and costly(ie superchargers)?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply solo.

Are there different specs for the North American market? The G37S in NA website states 330 hp but in the middle east website it states 350 Hp!

Heres the proof:

Specs sheet:

Did they make the G FASTER for the middle eastern markets??

Specs sheet for NA Infiniti:

Its modable BUT dont expect crazy gains NA... We dyno about 275-285HP stock with NA mods (Intake, Cat Back, Test Pipes, Headers, Tune) were looking about 310-320HP

The big problem we are having is torque and height... 3700LBS is a lot of weight. We need a diet!

Plus I think our flywheel weighs about 400 LBS LoL I think a lightweight one will do wonders on the rev's!

It's too early to say whether or not our cars will have vast aftermarket possibilities like the Z or other cars. I don't think it will be easy getting a lot of power out of our engines since they're tuned pretty well out of the factory anyway. For big gains, I would think you'd have to go FI. But give it some time, it's only been 6 months since the car has been released.

So you are saying, the max hp with (NA mods) that we will get to the wheels is 320 ? Without going FI ?

Im guessing 320 will be max without porting heads, cams and such. When you get to that game you miles well SC or TT it for a easy 425+ RWHP also a guess...

I don't think anyone knows hopefully it will be a nice range of things like the g35..

When someone goes SC or TT doesn't it flat out decrease your engine life?

Wow they're definitely reporting on a different SAE measurement standard than NA, they also report the G sedan at 327 hp and the M45 at 362 hp! unfortunately, they're really the same engines available here.
