Just one thing to take into consideration. Your gonna drive this car for years to come and snow tires ARE going to be an investment that you will need to make eventually. They last for years. Might as well just get the purchase out of the way so it is one less thing to worry about in the future. It hasn't even snowed yet so you can't use the excuse "I only have a couple months left" lol
Snow tires greatly improve the safety of these cars in the snow. I did a couple weeks in the snow on my 05 with all seasons, and it got down right scary at times. I was lucky, I could drive my dads AWD G or the pickup, but if that was my only car, at college, i'd want tires to make my car drivable.
Put off exhaust until spring and do tires first. The car doesnt NEED to be loud. I probably wont buy any exhaust until the spring anyways either so we can be quiet together.

exhaust can wait! it'll be fun to have everyone get their exhaust around the same time and install them together!!

I put snow tires on my G and on my M and it was a night and day difference. So much so that a few of my friends last year called me downright Fing retarded for driving my M in the snow....they didn't believe me that snow tires made such a huge improvement. If it's any consolation my M drove BETTER than my Accord with the extra traction and stopping power of siped winter tires. I agree with Janik on the fact it's a great investment, plus then you arent destroying your wheels currently and can focus on Summer tires when your ready, which will also have a better impact on the love of your car!!!!

^^yeah, if you drive your car all-year I would invest in some winter "wheels" in general. That way you can just swap them rather then having to take the actual tires off and remount them. Each time you do this its harder and harder to get them to seal.

I drove my old G35 coupe lowered in the winter a few years back and I had put on some Dunlop Winter Sports on the car, I don't regret it at all as its definitely worth it especially since you have RWD. I say get the snow tires! My car drove way better in the winter and I actually felt like it handled better than my FWD car.

Alright you guys have convinced me, the search for snow tires will continue.
This was my plan.
If i can find some decently priced 18" snow tires I would make my "stock" wheels the winter wheels. In the spring I would find some 350z wheels and either put the DWS on those or if I could afford it get some summer tires.
Otherwise if I can find some 17" stock wheels and snow tires, have these as the summer wheels, and probably just leave the DWS's on.
We will see what happens, there are some 18" blizzaks in the cities I want to go look at but I won't home until Winter break
