I've just collected tools along the way of a bunch of DIY stuff....I would suggest investing in a Haynes Manual to help guide you with maintenance/repairs...it's very useful. Would be interested in seeing your paint work and hear your tips and tricks! I want to learn to do it also.
Get a Z tube and K&N filter and be done with it...paying anything more won't be worth the price difference for power gain...(Unless you also want something shiny in the engine)

Do you know what the HFC gains are on stock exhaust setup? Might be interested...
Damn...11" wheels and +15 (with 315's too) is gonna make you have a WIDE stance! You're definitely gonna have to roll your fenders! If I remember right...that Lambo at C&C with the 6" lip is running 315's. I can't imagine tires are gonna be cheap at that width!
