What I've learned over the years, is you can not compare dyno numbers from dyno to dyno. Every dyno reads differently. Especially across different brands. Each dyno is calibrated by there owners and they have a crap ton of settings. If you want your car to have a 1000hp graph, I'm sure MAP could of messed with enough parameters to give you that graph. A dyno is only really good for your own back to back comparisons. Like adding mods and going back for another dyno run. Or putting back to back cars on it like Janik, Mike and Lance did.

So don't get hung up when owner XYZ got these hp numbers on there dyno and you are getting a lower number. I think that is why I've always preferred the drag strip for bragging rights. A 1/4 mile is the same here as it is in California or Florida. Only thing that really affects 1/4 mile differences is altitude, temperature and track prep. And those are much smaller parameters and easier to quantify, than the differences in dynos.

My 2 cents.

I'd love to do a track day!

Also Lance, love that guy's car. I love that someone else out there is modding an X sedan. I inquired about the headlights. The lip won't fit my bumper, looks like he replaced his X model one, which I also want too do.

Saw that! Wonder if he'd greyhound the whole front with the lip still attached?

Looks like he had Fast Intentions Exhaust for an X too!

Yup, and as much as I might dislike MAP now....they did a great job on my old 35 and since I've gotten these numbers here I want to back there and consistently dyno my car so I can see my improvement. Plus the thought of going somewhere else and having it run more or less on the sheer premise that it is a diff calibration is fearful too!

If you check out Show N' Shine - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum there are a lot of threads that detailers make and provide 'write-ups' on vehicles they have done with lots of pics and a list of materials.

I use a Porter Cable... Which buffer do you use? And Curt... why would you go non-orbital? Which are you thinking?
